I feel like this question has been asked a bunch of times, but I cannot find the threads when I search. For the repetition, I apologize.

I know at least two on here are great, can anyone point me in the right direction? I cannot find those softwares.

Are you looking for software to run ranking reports?

Bright Local and Places Scout are the best. I would go for Places Scout myself. It's much more affordable and robust.

Guys, this may sound like a bit of a stupid question. I am quite interested in these 2 software/websites. However, when they say local what do they mean? Local in terms of Country level local, City or Region? I have some sites which target country. Others just target City.

When we speak of "local" we mean city-level search results.

Of course, you can search by county, neighborhood, etc. So in practice it usually means within 50 miles.

You should check KeywordSearchRankings.com they offer highly detailed and customized SERP reports, based on the locations you are targeting. The tool also has a free version that's very useful to small businesses. Here's an example report I just generated for the query "car insurance" in 5 major cities in the United States.

For citation, I'd recommend using either WhiteSpark's Local Citation Finder or BrightLocal's Citations Tracker.
For local rank tracking, I'd recommend one of these SEO tools (check under "To surf as if you are in another country).
