Craigslist Ghosting for auto sale ad?

Hey guys,

Hopefully this isn't too off topic. Some of the threads refer to craigslist ghosting and I recently posted my car for sale there. When I do a basic search I can't find it so I'm curious if another seller would ghost your car ad on craigslist?

There are several cars like mine for sale and it's been at least 24 hours since my post. Would you receive a notice from craigslist when your ad is ghosted?

    Other users can flag your ad and you can see that on your account where you see your posted ads, a ghosted ad is where craigslist shows that your ad is "active" but it doesnt show up in the actual classifieds.

    OK my research finds that they can ghost a car ad-probably a dealer?

    My listing shows active from the link they sent me but there is no listing when I search for it. But I received no notices of flagged ad from CL. I didn't repost although I did edit a few times.

    if any other user flags your ad it will show as deleted in your account, ghosting is another topic altogether that you only need to worry about if you are posting a lot of ads everyday, it is craigslist algorithm to boot spammers

      I'm reading HTLML might cause ghosting as well as your mention of multiple posts. I edited the same ad several times but did not post the same ad twice. Can someone ghost my ad through a flag? I did post a photobucket link which would have been html.

    Html can contribute to craigslist ghosting you because their algorithm can see that popping up over and over, just upload the photos with the photo upload feature, I noticed a couple of my ads got ghosted before after editing, craigslist is just finicky. Yes unfortunately other users can flag your ads and it does happen sometimes.. Craigslist should work fine for you but maybe try other classifieds too, backpage (dot) com and kijiji (dot) com get pretty decent traffic in most areas
