Messaging offline owners on Facebook

Hey folks, I've been sending messages on FB to page owners and got a warning, then an account freeze.

Any advice on what's too much or a work around for this.

I'm sending personalized messages, jut too many of them I guess.

FB is really strict on that. They will freeze your account if you message people or if you are sending friendship requests. They want you to pay them for advertising

    Honestly? Pick up the phone.

While I have not gotten much spam on Facebook I get offers for SEO serveral times during the week via our contact us form and my email address.

You know what I don't get very often? A cold call. Know what I have never gotten? A cold walk in(for web services).

Electronic contact is easy but IMO relatively useless as we just delete, ignore, or report(what happened to you) it.

I always advise people to start local and call and/or walk into small businesses. This is a much easier and faster way to get your business going. And once you have built a good business you can hire sales people to expand the business. But you might never need to expand beyond the local to make good money.

Another possibility is to focus on a niche. Companies can do really well for themselves prospecting clients from just one niche, say RV dealers (like where I work).

To sum it up you can continue to spam people on Facebook and IMO you will continue to get in trouble. You can move on to spamming by email and have the same thing. Or you can do what real businesses do and actually contact real people in a real way via the phone or better yet in person.

For the vast majority of people they will find that the ROI (in both money and time) is better with these personal contact means vs. digital cold calling. Direct mail can be used to warm people up before the cold call to make it even better. But randomly emailing/contacting people on Facebook, Linkedin, and etc is not going to cut it. That isn't to say you can't build relationships on those social networks that build business but just cold messaging isn't going to cut it and you risk losing your ability to use the network.

I get that, I want to be helpful and send advice more than pitching my services.

Can I like a large number of pages without getting my account in trouble? Or is that also frowned upon?

Liking is fine. And proper comments would be fine. Just don't spam.

You can even create a page and use that to like and comment vs. your personal page.

Yes, this is the approach I'm taking. Like with my page, interact and basically act like a human being.

      Thanks for the advice.
