Ways Of Promoting Directory Website?

Hi warrior,
Top of the day to you. See am planning on building a directory website. One thing that is bugging my mind is that i don't know how to promote it, apart from link strategies, what are the other ways i can implement in order to generate traffic to this site. Thanks in advance.

    I am not going to tell you what I use.

    I am actually going to recommend a book that talks more about how to market online and it shows you each technique that works.

    That book is sitting in front of me right now because I read it and can totally recommend it. The book is called how I made my first million on the internet and how you can too by Ewen Chia.

    It talks about how to market online and other stuff.

    By the way, this is a physical book which you can buy on Amazon.com. Plus, I am not associate with them but I know for a fact that it will help others and yourself.

    I want to wish you luck and possibly start a dialog with you, in reference to building a directory site.

    I'm right in the middle of trying to promote a couple of mine, and find that it's easier than ever to promote a local site, but the directory site that points at them is still a victim of the antartic animals slap, and there's a little bit more to be done than before.

    Do some SEO on it like promoting it through blog commenting through joining forums like this. Also, find contents on the web that talks about directory websites and put your comment on it and then grab this opportunity to introduce your site.

    To promote a directory website SEO and PPC is an option but what I would recommend is that lets suppose if you are making a directory website for restaurants. What you can do is that you can contact the restaurants those that are listed on your website and ask them to do in store promotion of your website like putting up flyers or posters. You can integrate QR-Code in that as well and put up banners on their websites.

    To do this you can offer your clients free one months featured restaurant listing of which you normally charge a certain amount. So they will get an incentive and you will get more traffic so it will be a win-win situation.

    You can make your presence on social media platforms and market your website there as well.
