I was just poking around Craigslist for clients to offer marketing to. How do you get around this: ?

"it's NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests"

Its at the bottom of every ad with potential that I see.

Thanks,
Bob

    Hi BerkleyStreet,

My first question would be where are you seeing these companies advertise? Are they hiring or promoting their product or service?

I think you are right to not attempt a solicitation through a craigslist ad where they have disallowed it. Most of the time, there is enough info in the ad to find them on through a biz directory or their website.

In cases where they are hiding their identity, you can always contact them on the pretext of being a potential customer or hire to get better contact info--but I would just stick with the companies that give you enough clues to find them through other means on the net.

If they have a phone listed I'd google that or their business name for more info, and if they have a website listed, go there and contact them through the website.

If they're not smart enough to at least include a proper business name or phone number in the ad, I'm not sure I'd want to be working with them. :-)

    Thanks

I am looking through the services offered section. Its amazing to me that so many ads have no basic contact info. I went ahead and googled a few of the numbers that I did find and about half showed in places where I could feel comfortable about contacting them.

Not ready to contact under the pretense of a customer just yet. I actually purchased a WSO that taught that system.
