Email Marketing FOR Dentists

I'm doing some research on Email Marketing for dentists (To acquire new patients) and am not finding much other than Emailing existing patients.

Do any of you Warriors now if a Dental practice can buy an email list of consumers in their geographical area for Email marketing without it bring considered spam?

If so, I'd appreciate any tips or list companies that are reputable.

If not, I'd really appreciate some tips or ideas as to how I can help my Dentist clients specifically through Email to get NEW patients.

Any brainstorming help on this topic will be met with gratitude and thanks!

you can buy a list of people who just moved... send them a postcard to introduce the local dentist to them

What services does your dentist offer?
If he's a kids' dentist office, buy a list of people with kids 3-5 years old... it's 4 or so is when the kids' dentist I know says kids should start seeing a dentist regularly... Send a postcard with a nice offer.

Does he/she do braces? Find out what's the best age to have those... Buy a list of people who have kids at that age and send them a postcard with a nice offer.

Whatever you do, follow up, then follow up again.

Your client should also seriously consider a referral program or a Facebook campaign - works very well.

              You are very welcome...

Some great responses here on this thread - thanks for starting it.

I have found that contests work really well in getting new clients eye balls on the site and building a list as well as creating buzz esp if it's an event.

Also look at cross promotion - brides and family like to have white teeth for the photos...

Let me know if I can be of service in any way.

Why not email existing clients and remind them that they should be visiting the Dentist at least twice a year.

Dentists and Chiropractors are two of my main niches so I'd like to share some tips with you that are based on over 3 years of working heavily with this type of business owner.

Get them to understand the value of capturing visitors to their website and the number that come from people searching for a local dentist. They need to be in a position to capture even the potentials that just happened to arrive on their website.

That alone when done properly will help them get more people through their doors.

They need to send basic information about their practice and the type of problems they deal with and general info about the importance of maintaining good oral hygiene.

As a marketer I'm assuming you know about how to do this. The services I offer go from starting from scratch i.e. getting the form on their site, all the way through creating content and managing the service for a monthly fee.

Another approach is to make sure that they use a blog in conjunction with their website, to share what's known in their industry as "smile care" tips. On the blogs we create we also replicate information about health concerns, any new products and the different options for treatments that the Dentist offers.

All this information is available through the normal name in exchange for information that we know has to be done as standard to build a database. This is another service, separate from the website service that relates to email marketing that you can offer.

It goes without saying that they need to be able to keep their current patients up-to-date with the any developments in oral health care. The way we do this is by helping our Dentist clients get current patients to subscribe to their email newsletter through the two channels I just mentioned above.

You helping them get people to subscribe as part of their email marketing helps eliminate the problem that many Dentists face in that their patients once subscribed get regular updates rather than having to remember to check their dental blog to find out if there's new information.

The other thing you could introduce to them is using social media to connect with their patients.

We help our Dentist clients put a subscription form on the relevant social media real estate they own (if they don't have any or if it's inadequate and ineffective, you offer to help them make it more valuable...of course for a fee).

It's just another way that their patients are able to sign up and stay informed with what the Dentist is doing and get early information about things like discounts on any regular treatment patients are interested in.

These represent just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to what you could do to help your clients that I can share without posting an entire course in response to your question.

Hope it helps you think of different ways to achieve your goals.

Plenty of good advice from Bayo and others about using FB and the dentists website to get signups to their own mailing list, but I would stay away from anyone offering any kind of supposed "opt in" list with emails of local consumers who may be ideal prospects for a dentists services.

What I would suggest, is maybe finding local websites that may have a newsletter that goes out to local readers and seeing if they offer advertising in their newsletter. You can also use Facebook pretty effectively to target ads to the ideal demographic your dentist wants to target.

I think the new movers suggestion is great too, and considering the huge lifetime value of a new family that might see a dentist, you could easily afford to spend some $$ to market to new homeowners in the area.

Do you know what it currently costs him to get new clients and what the lifetime value of a new client is? Too many business owners are clueless about things like this, but knowing these things will put you in a better position to help clients like this.

    Cheers,

    Steve

    Maybe, possibly https://www.salesgenie.com/
free trial and 150 free leads
    quality leads and criteria

I don't recall if I read it here or on another marketing source,
but offering free exams, or free kids exams works well as
a business builder for dentists. It gives the patient a chance
to try before they buy. This is also something you could use
for email list building, or to rework their existing email list. Either getting
the patient to return or to tell a friend who might become a new patient.

      Dan & Steve,

Thanks for the tips. The actual product I'm selling is a Video Email Postcard that provides an overview of the practice and had a link that will people to the actual website. I could probably find a local online advertising site that allows links, post a banner ad, and have that directed to the Video Email Postcard.

      Steve,

When you say you would stay away from permission based email lists, do you have any experience doing this? If so what was the issue. I don't know if I can verify these are true opt in lists, but if so I would think that would remove the spam equation from the scenario but I need to be sure first before I recommend this to clients.

The Video Email can also be used on Facebook as well their website if they don not already have a video.

Just my observation over the past 15 or so years online that I've never come across a legit, true opt-in list of email addresses that one can use for their marketing efforts.

I mean, have you ever signed up for a mass email list and allowed someone to send you offers from businesses you don't know?

I guess if you could ask a company to show you HOW they get the email signups they want you to pay to mail to and maybe show you some results from past clients it might be worth considering, but I'd also make sure they comply with CAN-SPAM and any other regulations that may be involved.

Personally, the risk of something going wrong outweighs the reward and all it takes is one spam complaint, legit or not, to really mess things up for you or your client. I think it was in the main IM forum here just recently that someone was faced with paying a nice fine to Godaddy or moving his domain name elsewhere because an affiliate sent some spam that pointed back to his domain and ONE person complained. That's just not a headache that I'd want to deal with or have to explain to a client.

I sell exclusively to dentists as of a couple months ago. I sell them every week, for SEO/SEM packages between $999-$2499/month. There's one way to sell them from my experiences... cold calling. That's how I do it, that's how other successful dental salesman do it, that's how anyone not trying to sell you a magic bullet sells them. 75-80 calls a day and some brass will get you some dough
