Good questions to ask in a sales appointment...

"I'm just curious - what would you have done in such and such an area if I hadn't called you?"

"What are you trying to make happen here over the next thirty day?"

"When you agreed to meet with me, you no doubt thought: "Great now maybe we'll be able to fix ______!" What was that, what do you want to achieve today?"

Get's them talking....

Do you have any you like to use?

    These questions seem simple but pack a solid punch. I especially like the second question for businesses that you know have recently signed up for a online services like Facebook, twitter, meetup, etc.

    It is a great conversation starter that allows a person to rant, vent, or hear themselves speak their plans out loud.

    It's always great to ask what current problems your prospect faces during a sales appointment. If you're marketing something to them, or at least want to build a relationship, you first need to understand what they are in need of. Once you know what that need is you can formulate the best way to approach the entire situation.
