Best Time to Cold Call A Business?

So here's a little bit more of information of the type of businesses I plan to target if it helps that I specify.

I already have my first client in the hair cutting/styling niche, I found her through Craigslist (I consider myself pretty lucky ). I do YT and SEO work for her and she's very pleased with the results. Her traffic has increased and she has gotten more calls for her business so I'm guessing I did a pretty good job

So anyway, my client is located in NY but I live in NJ. I'm not completely familiar with cold calling, but I'm hoping to call up maybe 50 more of these hair salon places (mostly because I already have experience in this niche to start out with) and see if any of them would be interested in expanding their authority on the internet and whatnot. I already sort of have my sales pitch planned out and everything, my only question is what's the best time to call.

So for you guys, when do you find it the best time to call a business? And by "time", I mean like the literal time of day as in "1PM or 6PM" or something like that

Most salons/barber shops used to be closed on Mondays. Some still are, usually stand alone ones (not in the mall). It's hit and miss though. We don't call a salon on a Monday unless it is a hair salon and a spa (massage), or unless they tell us to call them on Monday.

Friday is not usually a good day either if you are trying to reach the DM.

With that said, Tues-Thursday, usually they open around 10 am, you can try once in the morning around 10:30 for the DM, and then CB again after lunch around 2 pm.

Just my opinion on what we've found.

It's not an absolute though. You can try anytime you want, there will always be exceptions, this is just what we experience with Salons.

Well, I don't mind calling other types of businesses, I just want to start with salons/barbers because it's what I already have experience with. I've only worked with one before, so I'm not even sure if I'm doing it right..

But I guess as I call up more places and have a consultation with what they need and whatnot, I suppose I'll get better at it

The best time is when you will make the calls.

    Most people won't be in.

Watch the vid in this post and you'll see why and what to do about it.

    7AM to 7PM.

    I like dropping in first for a face-to-face meet-and-greet.

If you can't get past the gatekeeper in person, then you can do a call-back and honestly say to the contact you tried stopping in to introduce yourself but was tied up, then ask for an appointment.

    There is no easy way.

Cold calling can be frustrating and scary for many business owners and sales people. However, cold calling is an effective way to grow a business. There are many elements to a successful cold calling system, but you can make big strides faster if you get more people on the phone.
The best time of the day to make a cold call depends on the person you are calling. It is important that you understand the ebb and flow of a typical business day for your client. My favorite time of day to call decision makers is between 4 pm and 7 pm (depending on office hours). Usually, the gatekeepers have gone home and the key business drivers are still hanging around the office (outside of meetings).

The best time i like to make cold calls is from 8Am-4Pm..I tend to stay away from businesses that have receptionist like attorneys, doctors, dentist their usually busy during the day.I like to call contractors, painter, roofers, carpet cleaners most of them are owner operators so most of them answer their phone no gate keeper..I set about 3-4 appointments a day.
