Suggestions on Marketing Client's Website

OFFLINE MARKETING

Was approached by a client to market his website. His products are in a very small niche (haircare) and is targeted more towards the local market.

Any suggestions on what kind of marketing can be done for such a small niche other than the usual SEO and Facebook?

Yeah. I think a strategy where what you're really marketing is your client's hair care products - the website is just a place people can order it from. What I'm saying is, look more at ways to build desire for and drive the product instead of the web site. In a local market, for example, they could do event marketing, promos with salons, health & beauty shows and giveaways.

You could always test around with Media Buying on smaller websites such as blogs and forums within the same niche.
PPC is a great option for this niche though

What hair care product is geared to a local market only? Are you saying he only wants to market locally?

  More or less, yes. He only wants to market it locally at the moment, then overseas if possible. All online of course.

You can try marketing this hair salon via flyers and also brochures distributions that can be given away somewhere near the salon itself.
