Pricing and Exclusivity

A question for all you offline veterans out there.

I have begun giving presentations to groups here in my area in order to generate new leads and because I enjoy teaching others.

Today I had a company pitch me on working exclusively with them to provide these training presentations. I've also had a number of other competing companies calling me up trying to get me to work with them as well, though none of these have made the exclusive offer.

Now I had been giving these presentations free of charge just to build referrals, but now I see that the presentation in itself is an opportunity.

So I have 2 questions.

First Question
If I go with the exclusive opportunity, how much should I charge them for exclusive rights?

I would still have my business to operate on the side, it just gives them exclusive rights to running the presentation series through their branches. My thought is between $1,000 and $2,000 per month.

Second Question
Would I be better off to reject the exclusive opportunity and instead work with any company available while charging my own per-seat attendance fee? My guess is $10 to $25 per person.

I am very very new to all of this and definitely in need of some veteren advice.

This isn't a situation I've had before, so my first instinct is to make it easy for the client and expand the opportunity for myself.

What do they charge for a ticket? Let's say it's $100. They would pay you $10 a ticket sold for a period of one year.

What are he chances of them hiring you to present? To them, you are an expert. This may be the best course of action.
They probably have speakers already. But they may get real excited about having you do it. Or at least train their speakers.

Good luck, and keep us posted.

They don't charge for attendance to the presentations, they use these as their own lead gen, which is what I originally had planned to do with it as well. They offer continued education using these presentations.

There are a few companies that do charge money for attendance, but it is commonly around $10-25 per-seat.

I'm really intrigued by the opportunity but also unsure how to move forward since I didn't expect this opportunity to be presented.

      Surprises, surprises.
