Is it possible to buy leads and sell them for more? Lead Gen simplified?

I've been interested in lead generation for a while now. It is something that can create big money and can be done 100% from home.

Many people create lead gen sites and use seo,ppc, cold calling, etc....to get the leads to sell. While these work they take time and your business can only grow as large as the amount of leads you can generate.

After doing some searching I have found several sites in several different niches that sell leads. Obviously the quality of their leads is very important to make this work, so I am curious if anyone has any experience with this?

I want to find a few sources that provide good leads and then flip them for a profit. The insurance industry will always be willing to buy leads, so if you are able to consistently get leads for one price, and sell them for more, then your business will be able to grow based on the amount of clients you can get....not the amount of leads you can generate.

Also, insurance is not the only industry you could do this with.

Any thoughts, insights, and experience would be appreciated.

      There's no premium source for web design leads - guys go hard on Craigslist. So I am data mining for restaurants, bars, and salons who are currently in business with no site. The plan is to eventually make a bunch of fake posts posing as a web design client, then auto respond them to a video which explains what I do. What I will do is run Press 1 - Live Lead transfer campaigns for a flat cost per transfer on said data. This is a "hobby" for me, but could always use help.
