Best way to setup client's mobile website

For those that have plenty of experience in selling mobile website, what is the preferred way ( in client's opinion ) of setting up their mobile websites? Examples are we create a subdomain on their hosting and work from there, register another domain for the client and point the redirect to it, set up everything and the client will host it themselves... other methods...

    4 possibilities from my point of view:

    1. host it on the client's server under m.domain.com sub-domain
    2. host it on the client's server under domain.com/mobile folder
    3. buy a new domain(.mobi) and offer it as a bonus and you can host it wherever you want.
    4. Little more complicated: Host it on your server and point an client sub-domain/domain to it so you can always be in charge of it.

    If you do recurring fees for the mobile website obviously the 2 and 4 option it's the way to go.3 it's the most simple one.
    If you sell it for one time fee that go with options 1 and 2.

      I was just wondering how would you achieve option 4? How would you point a sub domain etc to a site hosted on your server?

      Not very knowledgable about hosting etc, is it easy to do?

    When you offer option 4, will the client allow you to do the cname change pointing to your server or will they prefer to do it themselves? Thks for your valuable inputs...

      I always do the cname change myself...that is part of the agreement that I get access to their accounts to set all of this up.
