I have nightmares about them myself...I am tied to a chair and forced to view thousands upon thousands of ugly WIX websites and when I try to call these people to help them fix it the phone keeps getting a busy signal...I usually wake up in a cold sweat.

Calm your fears my friend. A very small portion of people will go with Wix. The rest will hire someone who knows what they're doing. People can change their own oil, bake a cake, cut hair and mow the lawn, but a lot of times it's just not their cup of tea.

I guess that has something to do with Wix being right at the top of my Facebook news-feed for the past few days even though I don't like their page.

Wix is no different than any of those other free website platforms of the past, present or future. They will grab a certain market share from business owners that have no real concept of the Internet just as free platforms have always done. In the end, smart business owners will realize how limiting wix is for their business and the ones that do not will get left behind, simple as that....

The best part for me is that I find tons of potential clients that have wix sites now and they do not show up at all in Google rankings for local, the site looks horrible on mobile and it was usually create by someone that has little to no internet marketing knowledge and as such the site has horrible conversion stats....To me this is a Gold mine to sell lead generation, PPC, SEO etc etc...

I heard and saw that many times it runs slow and flash and that's not good for search engines?

Flash is a pain IMO. It crashes regularly on my computer. Of the Wix sites I've seen, I'd say 10% are pretty good IMO. The rest of them are grade school art quality with not much thought put into them.

I've ranked a wix page as #1 for a few local terms

They don't do only flash anymore. Most are HTML5

Whats the problem with WIX ? If you know your stuff, they look great, either as website or lead gen. They rank well, no security issues and come with bullet proof hosting.

Did I mention that they are very fast to make, no flash. HTML5 , so yes, if you are an old school web designer, be scared, very scared

I got up to go to the bathroom last night and look in the mirror, and they were there staring right back at me in the reflection with a hatchet... I am terrified of them! Afraid is an understatement!

I like Wix (the new HTML 5 version), but don't use it for any of my sites. If created a visually stunning site with Wix for my local affiliate marketing efforts, but it didn't convert as well as my WordPress sites (go figure ... and I wasted days designing the site).

I find a great WP business theme converts well for my local marketing efforts, plus it's cheaper and faster.
