Awesome Sales Video: How many tactics can you count?

This guy is throwing sales skills right and left. He is closing, doing tie downs, getting them to hold it, and throwing sales combos like a real pro.

He just needs to sell more expensive products.

He's really an excellent salesman! I would suggest is that he slows down his speech a tad. LOL! He talks way fast. As you said though, there's lots we can take away from watching this.

It's just that those things he says and does won't work when selling expensive products.

Very true. But for a $20 bottle of cleaner? Sure.

But yeah, that needs to be clear. Being rapid fire funny works for very low priced impulse items, not for anything that requires thought.

They are paying for the entertainment value more than anything else. The guys are trained this way, but this young man is particularly good.

I have no doubt he could be trained to sell higher ticket items, it's his enthusiasm that is catchy!

Did you notice how only partially cleans something...so that long after he is gone...the door handle is only half clean. The porch stain is half clean. The window is half clean.

I started out door to door with vacuums...if I had been this good...I might still be doing it!!

I saw that. He actually had his presentation down well. He could probably sell vacuums with the best of them.

In fact, I was doing a vacuum cleaner demonstration is a lady's home years ago, and a kid stopped by with the same stuff (there are several companies that do this, but the demonstration is the same). The kid interrupted my demo, the woman bought $40 worth of cleaner...and then didn't buy my vacuum cleaner. Not even close. I tried to take a lesson from that.

This kid would make a fortune selling knives at the local fairs. He has enormous talent. And he's working here for peanuts. He could work a crowd into a lather all day long. At a booth in a mall, he would clean up.

Get it? "Clean up"? I got a million of them!

Added after I read Midasman's post; Yeah, the kid is sharp, and has a quick wit. But none of that is selling. The parts that actually sold were the demonstration, and the end negotiations.
His humor is impressive to watch, but it really isn't selling. His humor is useful though in keeping people from walking away or saying "I'm not interested".

This guy "over does it" IMHO however, he does get the job done and that's the name of the Game!

I have 2 guys I trained to sell "FREE Oil Change Coupons" for $20, door-to-door and they BOTH sell 50 A DAY....door-to-door!

They don't do the "entertainment thingee", just door-to-door until they get their 50.

They go to 2 Independent Oil Change biz or Auto Repair places that do Oil Changes (on opposite sides of town)(or, they can get 3 in a bigger town) and get their permission to sell 4 FREE Oil Changes each, over 24 mos.

They then get the Coupons Printed and go Door-To-Door in each area.

        Consumers get 4 x $25 = $100 value for $20 (Or...8 x $25 = $200 if they go to both)

Oil Change places or Auto Repair Shops are HAPPY to provide FREE Oil Changes because they will ALWAYS find SOMETHING they can fix on ANY vehicle.

And....one of the service guys where I get my regular Oil Changes, told me last year (2012) that his dad offered to give him the money to buy an existing Oil Change biz (The owner wanted to sell and retire)

I told the boy (26yrs young) that I'd give him some promotion ideas when he decided to GO. A few wks later he called and told me he had bought the biz.

I then proceeded to "take him on a ride" to the other Oil Change places in town....and we noticed that all had 1 or 2 employees.

I told him that if he "looked for things that could be ADDED or REPAIRED" he'd have to hire MORE employees and....be prepared to Make More Profits.

I also told him that within 2 weeks of opening to...offer a, "CHARITY DAY"....ALL MONIES collected that day would be given to a Local Food Pantry. Which he did. With the results being after 1 yr in biz, he now has 5 employees and "Raking in Cash"!

However....last month, when I went in for my regular 3 mo change, the service guy underneath my truck yells up, "Hey Don! You need a "X" and an "X+1"! An extra $79 to me.
