Please need advice on cold calling

So to start I will go to a copy of the yellow pages (which is in front of me) and look for big ads for businesses and then I will call them.

the problem about calling for me how do I get the call to the right person and not just a low level employee? also, this is the same for email. or should i just ask to be transferred and act 'confused'?

Ok lets take a restaurant, how would I contact a decision maker in that business? (I know you shouldn't contact near meal time.

call their number -> will think I am ordering food

call dentist -> will think I want my teeth checked

Do they will unlikely put me onto the owner and instead put the phone down.

so what should I do?

So how do I get the business owner's (marketing department if business is big) phone number and email if it is not on the website and their is just one for potential customers?

this is a big road block for me I can't over come it! But I must.

Pick a street full of restaurants.

Set off 45 minutes before they open for the day.

Walk in and ask for the menu.

Then ask for the boss and say.

"You have a great menu....I think I could work with you and fill this place to the brim....would you be interested?"

P.S. I know you won't do this but if you did....you'd make a fortune.

You either learn from J. Kanigan or from J. Durham, they both teach different methods.

Yes, I will back the recommendations to look at Jason Kanigan & John Durham's threads. They are both a wealth of knowledge.
