A letter that stands out

Hi,

i've received a letter from Paypal Germany today which i want to share with offline warriors because it has a very nifty design feature which makes it stand out and it definitely makes you think about the letter later.

Basically they have made the body part of the letter upside down so in order to read the letter you need to turn it. At first i thought they have printed it false but they state on the letter that they have make everything upside down for me (a phrase in german which means something like we have made/changed everything for you [to be with us])

I will try this in a campaign later.

Hmm, interesting. It certainly is an unexpected twist/pattern interrupt. Lol. Very clever.

    Thanks for sharing it here.

      That's cool.

Plus side: Can copy there and paste to word.

Down side: it types lower case only.

      Conclusion: great for twitter.

    Hi there,

Another option, if you want upper and lower case, is to:

    1. Type the text in a text box
    2. Flip the text box on its horizontal axis.

    All the best,

    Sasha.

      Wish I could.

The "rotation" feature in my version of Word is grayed out.

      I can't figure out why.

Save text as image, rotate 180 degrees. It's upside down and perfectly capitalized. Copy image, paste in word.

If you want, you can just save it as an image, paste it in word, rotate 111 degrees or some other odd number (grab the green button and move around), and you end up with an equally 'startling' letter.

I must try both ideas myself. For, testing is where it's at, right?

    Hi there,

Worst case, take a screenshot of the text as an image and just rotate the image on the page.

    All the best,

    Sasha.

      Good idea.

Turns out my older version of Word does not allow text box rotation.

    Hi there,

You could try OpenOffice - free.

The version I have on this laptop is LibreOffice - also free - and it allows rotation of text boxes. I just tried it and it works perfectly.

    All the best,

    Sasha
