App for local offline leads

If I was smart (which I am not), I would build an app that rss feeds local business tip,tricks and advertising secrets and of course the mobile form of my consultant website.

then fire up the ol' autocaller and send out a voice broadcast with a text 123local to 555-5555 to get the very helpful tool.

and spam where I thought applicable, like Craig's and linkedin.

        True, but mostly all business are not new. So find the weakness from all those apps and build a BETTER one.

          not sure "the juice is worth the squeeze" on custom app code as all I need it to do is simple functions.

    If they are making money, I'm sure we can make money as well using that. Question is would we pursue that

      I am just speaking of a vehicle to

      1. be in front of several business owners with my sales message

      2. have them in my sms list to market services to them when ever I want, not to really provide an app that will solve any problems...because DIY marketing frustrates people into hiring a pro.

    why build an app?

    Why not just setup a wordpress blog with an RSS feed attached to it, and then direct traffic to that site?

    and after you have them sign up for your sms, some of your sms messages can be links to your blog with your tips and tricks, so you are mixing up promtions and content providing value without seeming to just try and sell them

    just a thought
