I want to start hitting the streets this week. I'm thinking of what the best strategy would be for "incoming" for a person to stop & pay attention rather than just the basics of you trying to stop them whilst they walk by?

Anyone experienced that could lend me some tips I'd be grateful I've only done sales over the phone. With this I'm not even selling anything it's free they just need to sign up through my iPad on the spot.

Bring a few of the hottest girls you can find.

Street hawking requires you doing large exaggerated body movements
while using a loud voice while being funny, engaging and drawing them in.

Think of it as a cross between stage actor and a carny.

BTW, i have never done it. I have only watched others do it.
and that always seams to work the best.

    good luck.

Oh the full of energy, comedian part is in my blood

As for the hot girl we have a few volunteers who'll be there who are pretty decent looking so let's hope that works a little

Any other tips to actually get them to come to you; what I should be handing out maybe if they walk by at least give them a leaflet to read?

Besides the basic advice already given I believe if we knew what you were selling we could offer better advice.

From me here are my tips.

    1. Watch infomercial pitch men. Most of them got their start as live pitchmen.
    2. Go to conventions, cars shows, outdoor shows, and etc especially those where products that are complimentary to yours will be pitched and watch the pitchmen work the crowd.
    3. If you think you will get enough business have one or more people to handle sales while you continue to pitch.
    4. If you plan to really do it on the street check into the local laws. You don't want to be arrested. Get any permits you will need.

If you know how to get attention and sell being a pitchman can make some good money. Depending on where you live and the product you may be able to stay local but most have to do the circuit and travel the region(or nation).

I would first survey some businesses about the products or services you will be offering. Pose as a market research representative or whatever. So let's say you are selling website development, I would survey businesses asking what they like about their current website, what they hate about their website, etc.. This will help you over come objections in the future. Also, make sure to tailor your pitch toward the person you are talking to. Ask what is important to him or her and make and focus on those points. Be sure not to get too technical unless they can handle it. If you start talking tech you may lose them all together.
