Local Listing - Business Name Change

My client recently changed the name of her restaurant from Corner Cafe to Hope's Corner Cafe.

I'm in the process of optimizing her G+ local listing and adding her to lots of online directories. I see that she's already got lots of listings with the old name. If she's got some listings w/the old and some with the new name is this going to affect her rank?

    yes, it can...conflicting citations are bad, I would try to not only get new ones but kill the old ones if possible.

      2nd that...I'd try to do whatever you can to get the old ones changed/removed. Consistency across citations is crucial.

    Yes, it will definitely affect ranking.. I have seen this many times, so you need to go back, find those citations and fix them, reclaim them if you dont have access to them but it is a must.
