SEO for what keyword? It all depends on the market. He has been doing it for 2 years.. What he has done, ask him for his previous work. What keywords and clients he has got ranked.. Also make sure he is not using some blackhat which get you on top fast, and same get deindexed fast... So ask him for the sites he is doing seo for last 2 years, who are still ranking and have not been penalized much.

Also see if his SEO plan fits in your market, is he really can SEO your site/main keyword to get you on first page? What if he cannot? What if he use some so and so methods which are not liked by Google to harm your sites in the process of ranking... SEO is very risky job if handed over to some stranger just because he asked $$ few dollar...

I have my client (fellow Warrior friend), who had good affiliate sites ranked in Google, and then this new seo guy came in to bring more profits by ranking even more keywords... and whole sites were penazlised... last time we communicated, he wanted my team to make site on NEW domains, yes to avoid the bad-karma of old penalized domains. Nobody was happy with this SEO guy who tanked his sites and stopped responding to his emails...

I suggest if you really need this guy to SEO for your business, get new domain, new site made, and let him SEO that and do not let your MAIN site harmed by someone looking to impress with your low price and high fast results...

Always use secondary sites/domains for new SEO compaigns by 3rd parties to keep your main site secure.

    Hope this help,
    Mohsin

It depends. In Bangladesh, lots of people work for $2/hr. $150 would be 75 hours worth of work!

I don't think there will be much quality or results at this price.

If the person has got a thread or a website, try to look around for reviews. I know a few seo guys who charge cheaply but end up using a few fiverr gigs here and there some which are bad (bulk backlinking) in the eyes of Google.

if you value your business as low as this person values their SEO services then.......

If the SEO services were brilliant ,seriously, why would they ,even if based where time is cheap, why would they charge so little in comparison to other SEO providers.

But then who knows, their business model could be get them in on a basic SEO package at cost price and then upsell more lucrative services to them.

It's not necessarily cheap. We don't know what's included. Maybe for 150 he will rank business name? I mean, he will make sure that if somebody types the actual business name the right website shows up. I've seen it offered. I also seen local companies way down on 3rd page for their business name, because all directories pushed it down. So it could be cheap or expenesive, it could be just right value for whqt they offer it could be also actually valuable to business owner, who's own website doesn't even rank for his own company name. It all depends.

      I always think like this:

      "EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE!!!"

Now go more. SEO experts usually charge their service more than "only" $150 but in other way need to check what kind of SEO he offer. What he can guarantee even if today nobody can guarantee you anything.
All about SEO is to drive traffic on our offer/service on an organic free way and for that we need to rank high on SE.
Everyone knows that on the first page of Google for every keyword there are only 10 places so in the middle of thousands "seo experts" who can guarantee you will be there?

      NO ONE!!!

SEO is an science but more on that is a game for me...

It really depends on the keyword, the competition and the chosen niche. You should probably ask for a sample of his work. Doing some SEO work is not that easy and if someone can do it with expertise and can give you quality work, I don't think $150 is enough for that.

I would say that a man charges what he's worth.

If he could deliver results like to 1k SEO's, then he wouldn't slash his value to $150 - agreed.

He most probably doesn't do much at all or blast out all links over Senuke or similar software.

Better YOU do your SEO then spending that $150.

By the way, take a look at RankPay when you wanna result based SEO.

I think it depends very much on how competetive your keyword is.

Something like 'miniature schnauzers london' you can rank yourself by creating simple posts linking back to your site. If your niche is for example 'cufflinks' or 'laptops' etc., then there is no way anybody could rank it for you for $150.

Also be careful as some people are using dodgy black hat techniques which may actually harm your site.

    $150? Sure.

I pay $50/month per keyword. So I don't see the problem.

But your OP lacks a lot of detail.

I've tested expensive SEO companies voted "top 10" in the world, and I've tested cheap 1 man shows. One thing I can tell you for certain, paying more for SEO does NOT mean you value your company higher. If anything, it probably means you're getting ripped off.

Or, it means they are providing you a bunch of other services you don't need. Like 2 hour phone consultations once a month, extremely detailed reports with suggestions to make your on page better, and 1 service after another after another to build value behind the price.

When the reality is, I don't need 2 hour phone consultations once a month.
I don't need suggestions for my on page.
I don't need much of anything but a link builder who can produce results w/out getting my site slapped by google.
