What to do when Client has no Pictures?

In local businesses there's no doubt having pictures of the people and place, or things that business has done makes the potential customer trust and like the local business better.

But what do I do when a client has no pictures, and just asks me to take pictures with my iPhone.

IMO the pictures on the homepage should be of higher than average quality, yet my iphone is not high enough quality (again, IMO).

So what do you guys do in this situation?

Get/borrow a better camera or just use the camera on your Iphone, the quality of these pics are good enough to be put on a website. I (have used my Alcatel phone many times to take pictures for websites)... as long as they are clear and sharp (without movement) you'll be fine.

Ask him to go and rent a DSLR camera and click some pics

Tell him the importance of having a nice picture.

Tell him about the conversion rates.

Personally, I don't expect to find high quality photographs on a repair shop website . If anything I equate professional grade photos with high prices.

The problem I have with the site is it took me ages to find the "About Us" page",
This is a big error. It's not in the main navigation, the sidebar link did not work. I eventually found it through an obscure link in the services page.

Based on the Äbout us" information I would feel confident using these guys to service my equipment. I really like the way they emphasise the cleanliness of their shop.

      Cheers Don

    Hi there,

You can rent photographers on craigslist for a nominal fee.

Our tests have shown amateur-ish photos in local websites actually work better than the fancy professional ones. Consumers feel the company is "real".

If I was you, I'd more interested in improving my site's response time - it's very slow.

    All the best,

    Sasha

Depending on which iPhone you have it takes better pictures than most point and shoots.

Also a DSLR doesn't always mean better pictures. We happen to use a DSLR but that is because of our lighting needs and having to use advanced settings. Also it is a bit faster in auto mode than the point and shoot.

But our salesmen often use their iPhones to take pics for customers.

I once had a client say that and I told him I don't do photography but I can get someone to do it for an extra billing. I found a guy on craigslist to do it for $50 for one hour but the client just took them with his iphone.

If you take the pics and it's not in the original contract, i hope you bill extra.
