What do you think about little flashy arrows like this on squeeze pages?

Hay guys,

I am serious, do you have these arrow things on your squeeze pages guys,

Holy shit that's hardcore..

I'm convinced these don't actually help at all.

This is pretty much the pits of internet marketing.

How do you make your guys squeeze pages work?

If they are that obnoxious its an eyesore.

I dont mind a subtle arrow directing me to the action area.

I think sometimes there is a lot of info on certain pages and one can get lost and if that arrow can save a second or two of looking that is less time they have to change their minds.

Anytime I see anything remotely close to that, even the non moving red arrow pointing to text that has a red circle around it, I never consider buying/converting, etc. I've always been like this for as long as I can remember. It's gaudy and immediately causes me to lose any trust in the message.

That's just me though. Humans love direction and moving things.

95% of IM'ers have great relationships with clients who also advertise offline and with other people. Stop missing out on that cash and leverage into it. PM me if you are an established marketer and want to find out how.

This... it just looks really cheap and unprofessional to me. I have a difficult time understanding why people use cheap-looking graphics like those or how they could convert with them. Even more baffling is how people can sell sites that look like they were made by a 12-year old. Okay, it's not all about the looks, but still, the visuals are one of the first things people notice and someone like me would turn away pretty quickly unless something else catches my interest.

I hate them. Reminds me of GeoCities.

Personally I've never used them on anything I've done to do with offline marketing. The reaons are many including the fact that my type of clients in the markets I serev are more interested in other things than the flashy MMO stuff IMers have been conditione to respond to.

A flashing arrow for an senior member of a law firm? Forget it!

    As Paul Simon said....(in song)

"I have no opinion about this....I have no opinion about that"

    I only use what works.
I only know what works for me by....testing it.

Hardest lesson to learn in marketing is...MY opinion is worth squiddly....only thing worth anything is results from extensive testing. If a flashy arrow gets a better result than no flashing arrow then use a flashing arrow.

No need to get opinions from people who are not likely to be my target market.

Awful. Reminds me of the bad early days of the WWW circa 1996. Bad animated GIFs. Might as well use a cheesy tiled background as well.

In other words, I thing you can do better than that.

      All the best.

Nope, I don't use such cheesy arrow like that. It doesn't even help to increase sales. -_-

You don't know what will work in a particular situation unless
      you split test it.

I think it's more important to focus on the things that have been
proven over time to dramatically increase response like your
headline, your offer and your call to action.

      But you never know.

I've seen response increase dramatically with some pretty strange
      changes.

      Kindest regards,
      Andrew Cavanagh
