Help with Offline marketing

Hi there I joined this forum after reading some excellent articles on cold calling, and thought $10 for full access was pretty good going. Anyway my dilemma is, I work as a dental technician supplying dentists with dentures. Whilst I have generated a few leads from cold calling and referrals, I need to explore other options such as direct mail and other methods of drumming up business. The problem I have is I haven't got a clue where to start or what to include. The other thing I was interested in was sending an email offering my services and benefits. Sorry for the long post

So just to be clear, you are looking to market B2B to Dentists, correct?

How big is your target market? Are you targeting dentists locally, nationwide, globally?

One option that comes to mind is voice broadcasting (which I believe is still legal with B2B). Check out Twilio and Open VBX for this.

I manufacture dentures for dentists so I am looking to market my services/products to dentists. At the moment I would be looking locally and then once we have established ourselves nationally. I'm not too sure what twilio or open VBX is really all about

OK so you want to find out why your current clients chose to work with you.

Find out WHY your clients choose you, rather than someone else.

You might find out things like:
        1. they were upset with previous dental manufacturers who kept getting the orders wrong, or were late
        2. manufacturing problems with the materials used caused a lot of rework and unhappy dental patients
        3. the dentists wanted a second, high-quality source of supply in case their usual one wasn't able to deliver.

Those are reasons to do business with you. Once you know what they are, you list them to prospect dentists and see if any of them resonate. A dentist who is experiencing one or more of those problems is more likely to buy from you.

Direct mail and cold calling are probably your best option for local marketing, aside from walk-ins.

What other forms of marketing do you have experience in?

Could you advertise in magazines, websites, blogs, forums that have a reader base consisting of your target market?

Hi Jason my problem is getting into see the dentists, but once I'm in there I use the reasons you listed below. It was actually after stumbling upon your article on cold calling that I decided to join the Warrior Forum so a big thanks for that.

Hi Kerbett I am doing a lot of walk ins and some cold calling but I feel the majority of the time you just get rebuffed. I was looking at the direct mail option as this is the most economical for me at the moment. Advertising in a dental magazine is v. expensive so not at the moment. I have a facebook, twitter linkedin page but have no idea how to utilize these best. Forums could be interesting.

My marketing experience is minimal thats what I'm looking to improve. I would like to give direct mail a go for now but haven't got a clue how to approach it.

If I could thank you both for the advice I would but I dont know how so I will just say thanks here

If I were you, I'd do the following:

    1) Either hire a copywriter/graphics designer, or head over to the copywriting section and learn some basic copywriting skills.

    2) Get 2-3 different copies (for testing purposes) printed, and ready to be mailed out.

    3) Head over to infofree.com and subscribe (I believe 50% off coupons can still be found) and get a list of dentists/orthodontists/etc who are within your target market. If you're targeting low amount of businesses you might just find Yellowpages to be suitable.

    4) Put the mailings together, and send them out.

    5) Follow up with a cold call/cold walk-in.

Of course all of this can be outsourced to a direct mailing company, but if you're trying to save then doing it manually is probably your best option.

If all of this seems too overwhelming, you might just want to hire a marketing consultant to handle it for you.
