How was the Warrior shindig guys?

Think back all those years ago when you got home from school,
your mom would ask, "How was school dear?"

Well "dear" Warriors, how did the Warrior Event go?

It wasn't held in Vegas so you can't use the "what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas line."

Did ya learn anything?

Would luv to hear.

Best,
Ewen

    Worth my time.

Out of 200+ attendees, only 4 admitted to reading the Offline section (and I was one of them), so nobody would know who any of us were. And don't expect a huge response from Offliners, Ewen, because they weren't there. Copywriters, who apparently had been unicorns at previous events, were now a dime a dozen, though.

However, the networking opportunities were good. About half were newbies, but the the other half were well-established IM folk. Claude and I hung out and I met a number of people whose handles I recognized from the main forum.

On the technical side, Omar Martin's info about membership site design and Don Wilson's facebook marketing presentations were absolute standouts. Don gave his entire method away, and didn't even sell anything at the end. Gaz Cooper was another good speaker (Amazon affiliate marketing, and he said it was his first talk--if it was, he's a natural).

Brian McCloud announced they will only run one event this year, not two, so it will be 2014 when the next get-together happens. I'll be going. And next time, I'll be spending far less time in the meeting room--videos of the presentations can be watched later--and much more time networking in the hallway. That was my big takeaway.

Same as Jason. Omar Martin and Don Wilson were the standouts.

The room was divided into about half Guru's (suppliers) and half newbies.

The crowd on average was a little smarter than I'm used to. It made the conversations more fun. The herd thinned on the second day, but still a good turn out. Having Jason around made the event more fun. And he drove, so we could use his car.

But everyone was worth listening to. And Yeah, it seemed that everyone was a copywriter.

The group had almost no idea of what "On time" meant. A group that was very comfortable with each other. Brian McCloud was very good at connecting the speakers and he really kept the thing moving along.

I learned a very valuable lesson in price conditioning.

What if they're not stars? What if they are holes poked in the top of a container so we can breath?

A couple of people asked me if I was nervous. For you guys that missed this event, here is a recap of my talk.

I stood in front of the group...immediately found that my microphone didn't work...and I spent the next 60 minutes waving my arms like an idiot. The video you see above isn't a loop. It's the actual talk I gave........

And after 60 minutes...nobody would give me a hug, even after showing everyone how to do it.

(I just showed this clip to my wife, and she thought it was hilarious!)

Smart Fun People...it doesn't get better than that.

lol, and i thought your comment about price preparation meant
        something else completely.

More along the lines of closing a paper bag ... that day

I KNOW you get that, while most are going "HUH"

I plan to make the event in 2014. Still would love a Chicago event for us midwesterners

Wish I could have made it as I would have loved the opportunity to hang out with two of my favorites from WF and get some great info along the way.
