How to interpret a keyword?

I have ranked a client for the typical keyword niche + location but I noticed that they mostly get contacted by people wanting jobs and not clients looking for the service. Now I am wondering if there is something I am doing wrong here or does this happen to everyone?

Thanks...

Not me. What are some of the keywords? What keywords do buyers use? Don't tell us the location...but the keywords and business niche would help.

What if they're not stars? What if they are holes poked in the top of a container so we can breath?

  • Rank a business up and of course they will get calls about job openings. Nothing you can really do other than tell them to put a big "not hiring" on their site lol. Of course if you are using paid ads (like adwords) you can do negative keywords for jobs etc.

SEO is just a source of traffic....

That shouldn't be the only thing they focus on to bring them traffic though.

But, like Claude said, I would like to see some of your keywords.

You are probably doing niche + city and several variations there of.
    Try problem + relief/treatment/etc
Also try adding works like quick, best, fast, urgent, emergency, mobile, 24 hour(s)

Like a dentist.... emergency dentist city
Not too many job seekers are Googling that.

I'm using Google Keyword Tool to research basic 10 words, then find some variations of kewords or keyphrases which is also related to the content.

Well its the normal actually.. It is "Construction company in city" but I just realized that maybe it is because the the word company invites job applicants to do what they do..

Yup. The keyword invites job applicants. And who is typing in "construction company" when they need a roof? What do prospects search for when they need a roof, addition, garage, remodeling?

I really don't know, but a search in the Google keyword tool will tell you, I think.

I believe you are targeting the wrong keywords where search those keywords are mostly looking for job.
Or might be your content missleading and cause people thought is a job vacancy site.

You need to give it clear what business you are in and what service you are provide and sell in your website content, headline, meta title, meta description.
