How to get a list of e-mails of business in my area

hi,

i want to start contacting offline business in my area to do a post card campaign and i am wondering how i can get their e-mail

      I have heard that yellow pages haven't upgraded company info for years. So I am suggesting you not to use yellow pages. Instead you can collect email address from google places, CrunchBase, The Free Tech Company Database etc.

        I never saw that site before, it looks pretty interesting.

        the yellow pages not upgrading there info is a myth. I work closely with them
        they change all the time... matter of fact they did it two days ago.

        if you just think about it for a min you will realize its a myth. People pay them
        to be in the directory, they have a sales force calling and selling
        business with out a premium listing everyday ...

        so there is no way they can keep it out dated. It is actually updated
        more often the the physical book you get on your door step.
        That is only once a year.

    I think get someone who can do for you to get their details. If you have many free time, you can do that on your own.

      It depends on your area but you can try KenMichaels "Mobile Renegade". It works for me and it might help you too.

    Well, like Ken said, you can use any standard yellow page scraper to get physical addresses. It's actually not that hard anymore.

    You could even use Manta, Google Places scrapers or your secretary of state website to get business details.

    If you have a niche that you're targeting you could even go to relevant industry association websites for your area and rent their emails lists to drive traffic to a landing page and get business owners who raise their hand and say they are interested.

    I like that strategy because you get your offer in front of your target market. But that's assuming that you have a target market picked out already.

    Those are just a few ideas to get the juices flowing.

    I know this wasn't your question, but knocking doors and walk-ins are worth WAY more than taking time to get the emails, wait for response, direct mailing etc. Not to mention the cost.. (unless you don't care about that or drive a tank). Also, I dont think i've had one no from a owner when I asked for their contact information. Plus, you now have a real face-to-face bond created. Much easier to sell!

    I recommend Ken Micahels scraping tool. It works and customer support is great.

    I had issues last week and Ken was there for me answering all my questions. I've had the tool for 6+ months, this was another piece of software I was interested in.

    You want leads with email addresses? Invest in his software. You won't need another one.
