Help me!! How to not look like a newbie Consultant

I recently was looking at other seo agencies websites and for the most part i've only seen "bbb" , and "certified google adword" icons. some have an untraceable "certified consultant" icon. I want to get a "certified social media consultant" or " certified internet marketer" icon from a reputable company( not a college) does any one know of a affordable course I can take to get certified and stand out from the crowd?

i don't want to take an extensive beginners course as I've been doing internet marketing for 4 years. I just really want to take a quick exam and get that icon that redirects to an authority when you click on it. (yes i have a portfolio and other proof of results on website)

some real help would be appreciated!! thx

    1. Most of your potential prospects will not care if you are a "certified social media consultant". They will not know of the company that certified you so it really won't act as social proof. You could literally just make up a logo and have the same effect.

    2. Coming off like an expert is about you not about being certified.

    3. Have you already helped companies with this? Get testimonials as these are real social proof.

    4. If you don't believe me check into the big nationally known experts. They don't have any "certified this or that" logos on their site. They don't need to borrow authority as they create there own. You can do the same. To your clients you are the superstar expert.

Agree 100% , testimonials are a much better option.

Client testimonials can be the decisive factor when you're chosen over another designer. Clients will want to know who else you've worked with, and what your working relationships have been like.

It's a good idea to show testimonials on your actual portfolio entries, too!

I think testimonials are far more valuable to reputation than certifications. When I first started out on my own doing SEO work for clients, I immediately asked my clients to give me testimonials on Google (local or places, or whatever it is called today).

Real testimonials. I have had a couple clients since then who wanted to follow up with the people who created those testimonials, so no funny business.
