Are You Standing Out Even When You're Rejected?

Most business owners are so used to salespeople these days calling them on the phone or walking into their business.

Generally speaking, the longer a business owner is in business the thicker his shalesperson shield will become. (There's a rare breed of business people who just love salespeople. However, generally, they break into 2 types, the time wasters and those who genuinely do love to be sold to, this is beyond the scope of this post though) They're tired of everyone always trying to "take."

Saying no has almost become automatic to them at this point, no matter what it is you're trying to sell.

Want to stand out from the crowd?

Keep in touch with them even if you're told no. If you come across an interesting article about their industry online print it out. If you read something in the newspaper clip it out. Put them in an envelope and attach a note along with your business card and say: "Hey, I saw this and thought you may be interested in this article."

Keep doing this from 2 times per month to every month.

Prove to the business owner that you weren't there just to "take" because once you got a no, they never heard from you again. Give them a little something back. Prove that you genuinely care about their business. Keep your name and business in front of them.

If you're not following up, you're leaving cold hard cash on the table.

This will set you miles apart from your competition.
