You should look inti some cloud based stuff designed 100% for this. One being CallFire. Regarding CRM - check out Zoho.

    1. I need your advice for the best software to call hundreds of customers back to back where I don't get busy signals, etc. I seen a few, but want to know what you guys think is the best solution before I commit.

    2. Once these customers are all randomly called they will first be put on an appointment before we try to close sales. What is a good software solution for us to input appointments and then followup with them via phone in an efficient manner?
    1) If they are already customers, you don't want to call them with anything automated...so no "voicemail" drops or anything where there is a pause or that is impersonal. Take one of your sales people, or you, or hire someone to specifically call these customers. Since you know the contact, can call them by name, and they know you it won't take numerous calls to get to the DM. You call, thank them for their business and ask them what day this week you can stop in (or call) to update them on changes and SPECIAL added features they qualify for. Something that says "I'm coming in to give you some bonus things for being a great customer." Once you get in there, throw them something free, and then outline your upgrades that they can pay for.

    2) If you don't already have a database or CRM for these customers, there is no need to get one now. Use a spreadsheet on excel and a gmail calender (or whatever one you choose) and just call down the list, and keep a notes column (you can also keep a "call back/appt" column. Not everyone will want an appointment so there is no need to input an entire list of customers that aren't committed to this new offering or buy a CRM at this point. Once you've done this a few times and have 500-1K clients that DO need call backs and DO need reminders in a CRM, then purchase one. Otherwise, you can keep track of them by using coded columns or color coding call backs in excel. Any experienced caller will know how to do this and keep things in line.
