Offline Marketing career development

Hello Guys (and girls)

I have been doing computer stuff for 35 years so i really really want to get away of the internet and of online marketing so i search another business model to market my services. (the more i am away of technology the more i am in my power place)

I have developped a way to tell story to business that they really love, what i do is that i`m just talking to them about how their personnal story need to be know, how their product are the heros of their clients, how they can create a new story where they are special for their customers, where they help them overcome the difficulty of their life and things around that.

I know a lot about selling and marketing, relations, persuasion, awareness level of customers, tribes, business starting and taking ACTION.

my philosophy is all about communauty, service, giving gift to open relations, being faire, helping and stuff like that.

Now i need to get somes money for that lol

Here`s where i am

I want to do the story telling only, i don`t want to be responsible for other peoples works (web designers, seo, ppc...)

I`m looking for idea about how to market my services, should i talk about marketing consultation, marketing branding or another way to named this ?

I find very easy to create contact with customers, offline talking is easy and i can close easy on what i beleive is good for peoples. i have a very easy way with people. I`m there to help and peoples feel it.

I'm open to get new idea to close the loop and i'm asking here as you are my teams of marketing experts

Btw i`m open to help anybody who have problem with creating relations or anything around what i just said as this is really a strong core for me.

  • Well, every business has a story. Very few are good at telling their story in a way that gets people to want to be part of the company or store--and pay good money in the process.

    Taking just one industry for discussion sake--Montreal has a lot of great restaurants. Maybe you could help a few of them sharpen their story and then communicate it with their website, publicity, social media, etc.

    For example, Diana Coutu of Diana's Gourmet Pizzeria in Winnipeg sells her pies for way more than an average pizza from a chain. She tells the story about what makes her different here:

    People like to feel part of their favorite restaurants, shops and services. Telling the company story helps consumers become involved. And it helps explain why the company is different.

    Take a look at a different industry: At Saddleback Leather, they go to great pains to explain why their leather bags and cases are better:

    They combine that with a great backstory:

    "I got my first exposure to real tough leather at a Mexican bullfight... and I was the one fighting the bull. I didn't understand much Spanish then, but from what I gathered, they said to shake the this cape thing and the bull would go for it. What they didn't tell me (or maybe they did) was that if anything else were shaking i.e. my left leg, the bull might go for that instead. Well, he wasn't real pretty, with one curved and one straight horn, and he wasn't real bright either, but he was a fast learner. So the shaking thing worked... the first time.

    There is a ton of businesses in your town that could better position themselves like Diana's Gourmet Pizza. Maybe you are the man for the job.

      Hello fellow warrior,

      Joe, that is very nice of you, thanks so much for all the times you took to help me.

      One of the question that keep popping is 'How do i charge for that ?'

      Should i charge a fee for the consultation like $xxx/hours or a fixed price for the consultation ?

      I also know it is very subjective but how much to charge for that, what would be a good price and not positionning myself as too cheap ? (want to build my way up by starting with small business that can't invest thousands that most peoples ask)

      Also How should i name that, story building make not serious but maybe i love to be irreverent lol ?

      i could say marketing counsulting but it make formal, so ... i don't know, so not friendly...

      Any tips with the intent to help is welcome

    The story telling approach works very well, and using videos is the way to go.

    Scroll down the page here:

    Quality Built to Last

    and look at the videos the guy made. Much better than all the text on the page, and much more personal.

    Videos like this, set up on YouTube, optimized channel and page, can rank easily both in the SERPs and on YT itself.

    Is the way I like promoting a business and one of the easiest sells so far.

    As for pricing, I start at $300-$500 for video, depending on quality and length, then start charging extra from there for the marketing part. The video alone is useless, unless part of marketing campaign.

      Hi,

      this video idea is interesting but i search a way to do something simple, something that can just be done in the moment, you know like going on a tour around little town and helping customers by creating story for them so they can use it right now.

      Maybe a course/coaching/consultation in selling with story telling.

      I also want to teach how we create our life by telling us story and how we can start creating a better story for our customers, how they can give more service, more gift, help more so their customers base increase and stay with them for a longer times.


      I'm a bit playing Dr House here where he talk about his stuff until he find the answer lol

    If you haven't tried doing this yet, it would be good if you start with a smaller group. You can check in newspapers or your library perhaps what these groups are in your area. Offer your services, you can be a volunteer if this is a good idea, and see how good your performance is. You can learn from their feedbacks. This way, you'll deliver well when you are already doing this in a larger group, like a school or a small company. Hope this helps and good luck!
