Hey,

I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with direct mail and know of any legalities involved in promoting IM or make money online offers?

I am thinking of sending direct mail using the EDDM method and then sending the traffic to a website opt in box.

Anyone have any experience here?

Thanks in advance!

Start out small local newspaper, Pennysaver and shopper papers first.

They will tell you if your ad is acceptable or not.

Once you make a profit on them then you can start running 2 x 2 display ads.

    Then you can go nationwide.

Don't go all out on a EDM campaign to start.

If you want to go direct mail after you've had success with paper classifieds then go rent mailing lists of proven buyers of biz ops.

Local community newspapers let you test small amounts of money so you have little at risk.

    Best,

EDDM would likely be a money waste unless your product is of the mass market variety appealing to a broad range of folks.

Direct mail can be very good if you have a profile of your ideal prospect and then locate a list or lists that match the profile.

EDDM could work fine for this type of thing, but if you follow Bob Ross's M3 method you could send out your ads for free all day long. Just get two other advertisers to cover the cost on a 6 X 9 inch postcard. Or fill up a large 9 X 12 card and put your ad there.

Personally, I would be very careful about spending my own money for an ad that is not proven to work. Fortunately the M3 and 9 X 12 method can provide free ads forever if you do some work in getting other advertisers to cover the cost.

I am going to be using this exact method I don't want to use my own money to advertise. I'd rather get paid to advertise

I was just wondering the legalities and if anyone knew offhand. Sounds like i can probably drive traffic to a make money from home offer.

      Thanks for the feedback.

        Ewen is right.

I would consider small advertisements first in order to generate leads.

Direct mail is a tough nut for lead generation, but I would throw out the caveat that it's all about the math.

Not knowing what the price point is of the information or product you are trying to offer makes it difficult to judge, but I wouldn't be surprised if your cost to acquire a customer through direct mail... using a targeted list wasn't less than $150 per person, meaning between your front and back end(s) you had better have a profit spread that can absorb that amount. Sending direct mail out to an untargeted list will drive that $150 per person cost much higher.
