"We are already on first place on Google" - what to do here?

If a company already collaborate with another SEO agency, and they are almost on first position for their main keywords and phrases. But they are willing to let me talk to them and explain what I can do better.

Should I try to pitch something, or am I only going to waste my time? How can I win this??

Don't just look at SEO, look at their complete marketing plan, including whether or not their website is optimized to capitalize on whatever traffic they may get from their page ranking. Is their site optimized, are they tracking leads, do they have a mobile site, etc.

Are you wasting your time? = Wrong question

Do I sell something other than SEO? If the answer is No....

Can I do SEO better than their current vendor? By this thread I take that to be a no in which case to answer your original question....

Yes you would be wasting your time and theirs more than likely in that case.

On a second note would you want a clients where you got them everything they should want and would still consider other vendors? Seriously I feel sorry for the first SEO company. They will lose this client through no fault of their own. The client simply has no loyalty.

Yah we get SEO guys calling every day and that's exactly what we tell them. We are number 1 in our market on lour local search. We don't need you. Any ideas or things you share with us that could improve our business...the owner just tells me and I do it for him if we need it.

Here's the thing that really grinds our gears though. If you took too seconds to google us first, you wouldn't get that answer and that makes the owner feel like you are just calling a list and playing the numbers. You don't care about our company and haven't done any research on us, otherwise you would have came with a different approach right out of the box. As it stands, you are fighting a losing battle and only digging yourself in deeper.

    I run into this often.

I say "Yes, you have done exactly the right thing in getting to the top of the search results. You now have one listing out of the ten that are on page one of Google. You have a listing."
(show a screen shot of a page one Google search with a video thumbnail included in the results)

"Where is your eye drawn?" (to the thumbnail of the video)

"Your buyer's eyes are drawn to video too. How many of the other nine search results would you like to have a video on?"
(wait for it to sink in and they say something)

"Did you know that 56% of videos are seen on a Youtube search instead of a Google search?"
Its even more important that you be on the first page of Youtube. Youtube is the second largest search engine"

And sell video search results. Guarantee one or two page one Google OR Youtube video search results or his money back.

Again, whatever they have already done, is the first step of what you are going to offer now.

This is why Claude is a selling machine. Doesn't even miss a beat when this happens.

Thanks Ken and Aaron. But this is from years and years of conditioning myself to ask, in every sales situation "How is that to my advantage?"

In other words, how is this problem going to further the sale?

I really don't see objections as objections....they are just the next step in the sales process.

For example, in a 26 step sales presentation, their objection (it almost makes no difference what it is) is step #11 or 12.....and you just keep going.

When you get an objection like the OP gave, it's OK to be stumped the first time you hear it. But not the second time.

Anyway, I just got the answer out before you two. Had I been able to shut up for a minute, one of you would have come up with it. You or Misterme, Dan McCoy.....maybe one of the copywriters.
