Hello,

I'm not exactly new to the Internet marketing world but I've taken on a new type of venture. A friend of mine owns a pizza shop and wants me to try to increase his online sales and Facebook/twitter following.

They also want to build catering through there website

Any advice is welcome thanks!

Tell him to create his own website, if he doesn't already own one, and then add coupons for people to print off so that they can come to his pizza shop and buy for lower prices.

When you have this in place, people will self promote it for him to their friends if they like the price and the pizza.

      Hi how about:

      1.Create customer contest.
who bought certain amount pizza in a single receipt will get more goodies .

2.BOGO - Buy one Get One.

      3. Discount by :

      "LIKE" -5%
      "SHARE"- 5%

When they are at the cashier counter, they have to perform one or both the action above on the computer provided near the cashier to get the benefits.

All the pizza parlors near where I live do have (mostly simple) websites, but they also do all their promotions with the time-honored, tried-and-tested, well-proven local technique of leaflet-drops and very local advertising: they certainly don't try to do it online through social media. I suspect that their owners may know something that your friend perhaps doesn't.

Great advice only Id say use a fan page instead of a website, that way he can target his traffic more.

      1) Go to Staples and buy a 8 x 11 Slanted Plastic Standup display.
      2) Make a 8 x 11 sign with a picture of a Mouth-watering Pizza and the words; "FREE PIZZA DELIVERED TO YOUR ROOM!
SCAN THE CODE or TYPE IN THE URL TO ORDER!"
      3) Place these stands on the front desk of 10 local Motels.

Now....when Motel guests check-in they can't miss seeing the "Free Pizza" display. They scan the Code or type in the YRL and their mobile phone brings up the Pizza restaurant .....explaining that "Order 1 Large Pizza for X$ and get a small for FREE!"

This worked for 3 pizzerias in 3 towns thus far and Boomed their biz.

      Don Alm....marketing guy

NOTE: This program works best in MOTELS rather than Fancy Hotels because the High-Class travelers do NOT eat Pizza!

They are different because they serve pizza like the jersey shore hand tossed 30 inch pizza with cheese on the bottom and sauce swirled on the top. They use only the most expensive ingredients and they have cheesesteaks that are twice as big as any other pizza shop in Philly but that makes them more expensive due to high food costs.

Also they are located near two universities so mainly college kids from saint joes come visit

I would say run an online contest were every time a customer orders a pizza offline they are entered for a chance to win something like a tablet pc, mini-laptop, game system, etc. and sense it seems like a major amount of the customers are college student this will help to increase orders and sales online as college student will tell everyone to order from said pizza shop because you have a chance to win something.

        All the best,

        Martin

Build an SMS list by giving away a free large pizza every week. Post flyers at the colleges with a headline that says "Win FREE Pizza" and have students text the word pizza to a local phone number to subscribe. The first SMS reply could be a coupon as well. As his list grows he can start sending out timely offers that will drive people into his place. Facebook and Twitter are not going to get people in the place as fast as SMS campaigns.

For catering, run adwords to a special landing page on their site. That will find people looking for catering in the area. Also, be sure he has great reviews and market the hell out of those on the website. Be sure he also has a mobile site in place as well.
