Strategy to get clients without cold calling or...?

Hey!

I feel like I'd be a good fit for offline marketing as I am pretty good at ranking YouTube videos and have even developed software to rank my videos ultra quick.

My issue has always been I HATE cold calling and I prefer not to speak to clients on the phone.

Any ideas on getting clients while doing minimal talking on the phone or none at all?

I like chatting through email.

Any tips? How about using Craigslist?

    Honest answer?

Provide excellent services to others here who will do the selling or hire someone to sell.

You can do bare minimums but if you are going to you would be better off having a middle man in sales rather he works for you or you are the outsourcer others use.

You will get the same pay but will have less head aches this way.

What happens if someone has questions? Or wants to talk to a person... not their computer screen?

This is the wrong business if you don't want to talk to people.

Go ahead, send out 50,000 emails. Post 10 times a day on Craigslist.

When it comes down to it, you'll have to open your mouth to get the sale.

Don't let something like that hold you back.

Your success will be limited by your inability to talk with people. You simply must learn the skill.

If you want wealth - you need to be able to talk to other people. Period.

Read some books. Take some courses. Meet new people. Just do it.

Stop being a puss and just do it.

Nothing more -- you can be successful if you get out of your own way.

Otherwise, you'll fail like 95 percent of everyone else.

Learning how to sell and communicate is going to have more of an impact in your life than learning how to develop software.

I have been in both worlds! You need to get out from behind your screen and in front of people.

You've simply just got to talk to people to be ultra successful. It's the only thing that will separate you from the 100,000 other "marketers" out there trying to get their business.

That being said, cold calling is the absolute worst use of anyone's time, so you definitely will never have to cold call but you've got to be ready, willing, and able to talk to potential clients when they reach out to you.

I am curious of your explanation on why you think cold calling is "the absolute
worst use of anyone's time." I know nobody likes cold calling but I thought it
was one of the faster ways to sift and sort to get to a possible prospect then
      any other method.

If you could elaborate on that I would appreciate it.

Edwin; You have to learn how to sell. It isn't as hard as you think. In fact all it is is explaining what you do and answering questions.

You don't have to cold call, you can run ads...but eventually you'll have to talk to a prospect.

The only way I can see to never talk to a prospect is to 1) work for someone who will talk to prospects, and make it a relatively low paying job. or 2) price your services so low that the price alone will sell for you.

You have friends, right? If one asks you a question, can you answer it? Of course you can. That's all you have to do.

But insisting on not talking to anyone...will cripple your results.

Funny I asked a similar question on a relationship board-

I would make a pretty good playboy as Im a very good lover and have developed techniques to please women very quickly.

My problem is that I hate talking to women and would prefer not having to convince them to give me a try.

Any tips to attract women without having to actually talk to them,
    I enjoy sending text messages.
Maybe I can post some flyers of myself around town...what do you guys think?

It is a shame than Jhon Durham is banned from this forum otherwise he would have been posting here with all his "cold callers"... I can see some of them already here making you think there is just one way to skin a cat, but I would start with this one:

There is a way to seduce a woman without talking to them, here you go, a piece of direct mail from Gary Halbert, good he did not hear anything you said:

      Gary Halbert Personal Add

I have created a BUNCH of products about how to get clients without cold calling, go to the War Room and search my name.

and here are other threads that I have started as well:

Some from a direct mailes Ewan MAck:

and a MUST for every marketer:

      Gary Halbert Letters

Cold calling puts you on a very weak position when you are negotiating because you have showed that you need the business more than the other person... since you are calling them.

and if Cold calling is so wonderful and its the way to build a business I want to ask you how many times your doctor have called you telling you: "Hi Bob we have an special colonoscopy price, just 3k in the next 3 days"..... and doctors charge as much money as they want, you pay them without hesitation... they have authority and they don't COLD CALL...

The stereotypes in here are horrible. The only people that aren't profitable at cold calling are those that don't do it, and don't know how to do it.

There are also plenty of us that like actually doing it because we know what we are doing and it makes money for us and clients.

I gotta say I am thankful for people like the OP.

Imagine if the majority of people WEREN'T afraid to cold call?

I don't think I would have been able to start a business, I just hear the words 'you're not from India? let's book an appointment!' so much that I am still running my business, despite many setbacks I've had.

That's a hint to you OP, keep in mind : most of your competition is too scared to cold call, so there are PLENTY of opportunities out there.

I have an appointment in an hour with a acupuncturist that I booked 2 days ago on a cold call. Cold email probably wouldn't have even got past the spam filter.

      Wish me luck

Hey Edwin....as I understand, you make videos and Rank them. I'm assuming you rank them for certain Keywords. As an example; "Plumber in Denver".

So....you have a video ranked on 1st page of G and now you'd like to make some money by finding a "Denver Plumber" want to Pay you.

        So.....get 2 things;
        1) A "Voice Broadcasting" service or software
        2) A "Voice Mail" service that receives calls

        Now....with the Broadcast thing....make a recording;

        ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ++++
"Hi this is Edwin Torres again. I'm calling back because I still need a plumber in Denver to take the phone leads I'm getting. These are people trying to get a plumber out to their house as soon as possible. And, I'm not a plumber. I provide a Hot Lead generating service that gets people who want a plumber in this area to call me. I need a Plumber to send these Leads to. Call me back if you want me to send these Hot Leads to you. My phone number is 555-555-5555, again that's 555-555-5555. Thank you!"
        ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ +++++

Now....this recorded message you broadcast to your list of Denver Plumbers....is the FIRST Call. Saying, "this is _____AGAIN"...."calling back" alerts recipients that they MISSED the First Call and "builds a Sense-Of-Urgency" so ....if they are the least bit interested in recieving Calls from local people who want a Plumber....he had better PHONE BACK!

Now.....your prospects phone your Voice Mail and leave their Name and Phone #....(pay attention to the psychology at work here)

When someone leaves you a message asking for a call back, your phone call to them has NO PRESSURE. They ASKED YOU to call THEM. So....they are EXPECTING your call!

I hope you can see the POWER in this. It is NOT you....dialing hundreds of numbers....it's a broadcasting MACHINE!

In Fact....you really only need to have the broadcast machine phone 10 or 20 numbers at the most!

You're only looking for ONE client to pay you!

So....find a Voice BroadCast service and a Voice Mail receiver service. (They're usually with the same Co)....and give this a try!

You will NEVER have to make "cold calls" again!

people really don't have to cold call to get clients... There are other ways to get clients...

direct mail ( most effective imo)
    linken
    Email
    Etc

You will have to have some type of communication in person or on the phone is gonna be required. A warm call is a lot less bothersome then a pure cold call

    Ps good luck payoman

Instead of trying to avoid cold calling, try to find a way to desire it.
Cold calling will earn you a potential $1000 every week.

You definitely CAN get paying clients and even premium
    paying clients using email.

    I've had plenty of them.

I can tell you though that your conversion rate is going to
go up significantly if you call the people who contact you through
email on the phone after they've shown an interest in the
    services you offer.

Strategies you might consider include direct mail, making initial
contact through email in an indirect way (contact them about
a charity, about something that interests them, just to
compliment them on something they're doing in the community
etc etc...and open a relationship that way).

You might also use a referral system.

As has already been mentioned you could also partner with sales people
or telemarketers who can contact your best prospects for you.

When it comes down to it getting long term premium paying clients
is about building relationships and you don't have to cold call to do
    that.

There are many different ways of opening a relationship and many
different ways of building a relationship.

Thinking along those lines should open up a world of possibilities
    for you.

    Kindest regards,
    Andrew Cavanagh

You say you're good at ranking videos.

Get one of Dave Cisnero's or Mark Helton's PLR Videos. Put in a phone number you control (CallFire or Twilio) Re-Direct the phone # to a business in that niche.

Get the video ranked and watch when you see some calls come thru. Send an email to the biz saying that YOU caused those Lead Calls and if they'd like to continue receiving Lead Calls....they should phone you....otherwise you will re-direct the Lead Calls to a competitor.

You could also use the "Whisper" effect. This is a recorded message that comes on when the phone is picked up; "Here's another Lead from Smith Marketing. To continue receiving Lead Calls please call 555-1234!"

You WILL receive calls from businesses.

all in all, cold calling is one tool in tool box. Email, seminars, direct mail, referrals are all ways to get clients. You don't have to use one or the other to get results you simply need to prescient and work on reaching clients some kinda way

I do a lot of work for two guys that sell websites and SEO. That is what they sell as that is what their team deliver.

Their team does not deliver any other additional services, but I sure do.

They sell websites for £5-£10k plus monthly maintenance , SEO packages of £500+ p/mth.

They also sell my services to their clients on my behalf, they already have the connections and reputation, they add their 'fee's on top, I take what I always take when selling direct, I outsource the actual donkey work, I just do the strategic stuff, mark up circa 600% to me, I supply work and therefore income to outsourcers, the guys that sell are happy with their amounts and it often helps solidify the deal (the more services you are delivering for a client the harder it is for them to move elsewhere) , win win win .

Sure I do cold calling too and direct mail and other methods, but this is my favourite, and we are developing this approach further with these two guys and others in the pipeline.

So I make from a simple email campaign a gross profit of £5-6k per annum after my outsourcing costs with no time spent buttering up or selling or meeting with the customers.

Please note with these price examples they are in UK £ not $ which would be around 52-55% more eg say £5000 =$7750.

There are other ways , be creative, but still work on your weaknesses and sell yourself.
