Who is telling the truth and who isn't about traffic building?

Hello guys I am new in this forum, and I guess like in every forum in the world There are people walking the walk and building business and putting the money where the mouth is and other ones just information lechers.

I am from Spain by the way, so apologies for my English, and this is the deal:

I have a niche website with very targeted content and I am adding more content as I go the format is a personal blog (not AdSense), I take 3 niches in the blog.
1) Productivity
2) Stress management
3) Marketing for coaches and therapist

The 3 niches are linked together, I have 3 manuals written for every of the niches and several teaser reports to bribe people for the email and name standard structure there nothing to fancy.
I have written several sales letters for my products and the manuals and I am relly good to create content training.

I have a presence in Facebook and twitter, Facebook brought me 40 subscribers in 2 weeks not sales
I have the manuals in amazons, I haven't sold one, I have 6 E-BOOKS IN TOTAL.

I pay $99 a month to expert SEO Jason suli from this forum for Google rankings and back linking

I contact people from different niches on line in Spain and in South America to share linking, joining ventures and more but it seems that the most of the people is to scare of losing the little Leeds they have to another one or they just don't get marketing.

The things here is I CAN NOT MAKE ******* TRAFIC to the different eBooks, blog, sales letter etc.

I am not afraid to put many on any real life real people strategies to generate traffic but I think I am falling short on knowing which ones are those even though I do constant training and I apply what I leant it seems bizarre to hear " I drove 10.000 people to my web site in just one post" I can write awesome sales copy too, I have been studding and writing sales pages for 2 years now so I know the drill.

I would rely appreciate from those who are making money and having traffic to your sites some sound advice of what to do.

I do have a lot of content and I can generate products the things is the traffic

When I get some sound advice I will put the money needed into the right strategies and I will tell you know my results.

Please I do appreciate all comments but people that just get information and do nothing are not welcome this time,

nothing personal this is real business I am working on and my kids need to eat

Regards

Alejandro

Here are a few quick notes I have based on reading that.

    1. I'm not sure your 3 niches are related. If you are "the expert" and happen to branch into those 3 it is ok. Otherwise I think they should be divided. Claude talks about how no matter which niche he is talking to he is their expert. Most don't even know he works with other niches. Unless you are trying to build a huge personal brand I wouldn't put these together. And even then I would pick one and build the personal brand around it first.

    2. Each niche needs a funnel. You have the parts of a funnel but it doesn't sound like you have a funnel set up.

    3. What would people search for who would need Productivity help? Stress Management? Marketing help?

That is what you need to focus on to get traffic. Also is there enough traffic on those terms?

    4. If you are not on page one no one is finding you. If you are not above the fold on page one few people are finding you. If you can't dominate search you need to find other means to traffic. Consider paying for it depending on the niche and your knowledge of the competition.

    5. How much have you made in those 2 years? Don't assume because you have been doing it for a while you know what you are doing. Results matter. I don't care if you got results in 3 months or 13 years.

Would someone pay you to do it? If not hire someone or do it to learn as you go.
If you were hiring someone to do it would you hire yourself? If not hire someone to do it.

If you wouldn't give yourself $1,000 or more to do it don't do it yourself.

    6. Focus on one channel. You have your eggs in a load of baskets and none of them are working yet. Choose one. Make it work. Then learning what worked move to the next channel and rise and repeat. Or stay in the one channel and keep tweaking.

People do too much. Doing less is a virtue many need to learn. Massive action is great but without direction and focus it is simply clogging things up.

      Hello, Aron

Thank you for your sound knowledge, and your willingness to share
I guess explain someone in a few short sentences what you do or how you do it
      May not be the easiest.

I had to say that I have been getting a very decent living out of my training and getting the customers because of the sales copy I wrote offline and as I am planning to expand into the internet that is why I am creating all that content and the funnels to advertise products.

I definitely can relate on things you mentioned there, as my offline business is in the niches I mentioned and my expertise is on that, I am working on this to build a brand name, it may not be that much demand on internet for those niches and you could be right, but I am not going to get in “puppy training”.

That is not where I have my focus and my direction both are very clear of what I want to accomplish

I can definitely relate on doing less, because I have produced so much copy and so many different strategies that now is a pain in the ass to put them all together, and there some of them, I am not using, even though I have landing pages and sales letters for, but I am learning from that so is all good but a waste of time.

I definitely will go for the paying adds with a long tailed key word campaign but as you mentioned wisely there my funnel needs some twicks .

I want to thank you for your response and hope I can see you around the forum

      Thank you

      Alejandro

    Alejandro,

You have a lot going on....e-books, manuals, websites, sales letters, email marketing, books, teaser content, facebook, twitter, amazon....

We will assume that all of this is top notch content, sales copy, etc etc.

Of course, without any kind of traffic, all of this is useless...even with tons of non-targeted traffic, all of it is useless as well. So you are looking for quality, targeted traffic, that is specific to your niche, service/product, and emotional state that coincides with your needs (buying, needy, self-help, fearful etc etc)

I have no clue what you have learnt in your SEO courses about traffic but there are a few fundamentals when it comes to traffic in my opinion.

Who exactly is your target audience? (gender, age, occupation, marital status, etc) This should be an narrow as possible because the less time/money you will spend on the non-targeted visitors/fringe visitors, the more you can spend on the target audience.

Where is your target audience located online? Are they using Google, youtube, bing, facebook, amazon, or what ever to find/utilize items in your niche? No use going for using Facebook if it only holds 5% of your market, when youtube holds 45%. Unless that 5% has a better emotional state.

What is the emotional state of your target audience in your niche and how is your content/marketing capturing/utilizing that emotional state? It is useless to have funny cat pictures if the emotional state of your audience is desperation/greed.

Once you know WHO (target), WHERE (using what medium online) and WHY (emotional state), then you can begin to focus your traffic generation methods on those targeted people, on the targeted locations looking to incite or help a the specific emotional response. Every other traffic generation method should be shelved till you can capture all of this specific traffic that you have identified because it is a waste of time/money.

The other thing is, once you have identified the specific traffic that you should be going after. Instead of doing the traffic generation methods yourself, sometimes it is a much better use of money to pay someone to generate the traffic for you. For some reason, everyone thinks that they can generate traffic online, which is not the case. It is a skill that needs to be learned and mastered. As such, it is better to pay a professional and utilize your time in matters that you have learnt/mastered yourself. Which in this case, could be the subject matter in which your niches reside.

I know that facebook sounds like a good idea and that a lot of people get a lot of traffic from it.

But what I like to do is I will do searches using technorati.com to find forums in my niche and join those forums and use those sites to drive traffic to my site

and I will use big-boards.com to find blogs in my niche and I do blog commenting or guest posts to help drive traffic to my site.

I will also contact the owners of blogs and forums in my niche and work out a deal to put up banner ads on their sites, or even text ads.

You can also do a search for "your niche+blogs" and "your niche+forums" so something like "productivity+forums" and/or "productivity+blogs"

both of those searches should give you a list of blogs and forums in your niche.

That should get you off to a good start. And should actually get you better results than using facebook
