Help with marketing a speed dating business

Hi there,

I recently launched a speed dating business in Belfast Question Date - Speed Dating Belfast - HOME and our first event is coming up in three weeks time, but uptake for tickets has been very slow. As a new company our seo ranking is still quite low although we've managed to get onto the first page of google results for certain keywords.

I've been marketing mainly on local facebook event pages, twitter, meetup.com and on pof but all my efforts seem to be having little effect.

I'm thinking of printing some leaflets etc and targeting gyms, bars etc but will this work any better than targeting singles on pof and meetup?

Any ideas/marketing advice on how to promote a local speed dating event would be greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards
Stephen

I don't know about Belfast, but here it's vacation time. Is it so in Belfast and perhaps many are away? That could be one reason.

I was once hired to photograph a speed dating event. The promoter wanted to use the photos as part of his marketing material. As soon as I pointed my camera to anyone, they balked. There's a stigma. They didn't want their faces to be publicized. After several instances the promoter quickly decided to abandon the plan.

So are people somehow getting the sense or perhaps concerned their faces will be seen on your FB event pages and meetup page?
