I have a service I am offering to businesses that has serious potential and it doesn't matter if it is local or nationwide. I need help with lead generation/strategies moving forward. This is not my strong suit, and apparently gets you banned for a couple weeks if you ask in the wrong area or WASTE money in paid areas of this place. Please message me on skype juicedmarketing or email me at info@juicedmarketing.com Am I even posting in the right section?

Nobody is going to email you and privately help you. Let's do it publicly so everyone benefits - that's what a forum is for.

You seem a bit angry at the forum where you are asking for help. We tend to be a pretty close group around here and would love to see your business work well for you.

Thanks for the note Dan. I seem to have no luck in being able to find help on WF when needed. Maybe I am asking the wrong questions etc....angry no, frustrated yes.
I have a credit card processing business, and being backed by the largest CC processing company in the world allows me to go into a business and offer a ridiculously low rate because I am not trying to maximize profit from one client, but build a huge portfolio, give amazing rates, and let bulk bring in the money.
Spending money on this forum to offer things to Warriors didn't go well and ended up getting be blocked. Anyways, I guess what I need is some guidance on the correct way to approach this or where to post. I need lead generation help, going door to door locally has been great but I am equipped for more. What do I need to do here? I am not into affiliate marketing, although I do pay for converted referrals etc...Thoughts?

FirstData - great company and they are very flexible allowing you to offer various rates. I am assuming that is who it is?

Are you contracted directly with them or are you hooked up with a third party company reselling the product as an agent?

So far you have been doing cold walking? Congratulations - you have done more than most people are willing. So you've been making sales that way - exactly which part isn't working well for you?

I guess my question is - why can't you keep doing that?

If you spell out your main problem with what you are doing - we will be in a much better position to assist.

Yes, First Data and we work with a third party firm that handles our technology, support, and setup. We do everything else though including going to the businesses to oversee and train owners and workers.

We franchised our own firm with their backing and the cold walking has been great. The part that I want to get more into is branching outside of my area, statewide, nationwide. I am out of Chicago and sure, there are lots of businesses to hit up. But, while I have people and myself going business to business, I want to start moving into other markets. I am large scale thinker, as a franchisee, I need to be setting other things in motion while the other stuff is working as well. How do I get that portion off the ground? Find people to walk business to business in other cities? Personally, I'd like to communicate with lots of businesses on my own, I love this stuff. How do I get this off the ground outside of my "walking" area.

        Do you sell merchant accounts?

That is one of the hardest rackets around.

I do NOT sell MA's but i have clients who do.
Maybe I can help. Also, I sell leads.

maybe i can help you out there too.
I can show you how to generate your own.

Or you can just buy some from me

I'm really trying here - and struggling. Can you please provide more info about what you want to try and what you are trying now besides the walking?

In my mind I think - If the walking is working, it's time to bring on 10 sales people and teach them how to do it. Give them commission only and a two week trial. The Chicago area is huge - you could have 10 offices with 10 sellers each making you a lot of money.

If it ain't broke - don't fix it. Just scale up what you have found is working.

Coming and saying "What should I do" doesn't really give us much to go on. Have you tried anything else?

PS - Does the company you work with have the initials NMN?

LOL Ken - I'm working with a network of merchant providers right now on a marketing package. There are definitely things that can work, it's just hard to tell what direction he wants to go.

If you don't know where you are going, any road will get you there.

@dan. I like the idea of spreading out into more people or offices. I'm not trying to stop what's working and what's going well will get better. What I want to do is start doing the same thing in other cities. Do I start with leads? Find people in other cities to go into businesses? That's what I want, start spreading out. I need leads in other areas get in the door. I'm trying to be as clear as I can. I guess it makes sense to me.

Here is my game plan right now after thinking more of this:
I am going to bring on more people to do walk ins to businesses in the area and surrounding towns. I pay a pretty nice commission so it is not hard to find people.
I am going to create a landing page for people to contact us and SEO the heck out of it. I have college kids in a variety of college towns looking to make extra money so I am going to have them work in those towns. Now, here is what I need to know more of....If I want to start more in other cities where I don't have people, where can I get leads of business owners who use CC merchants and then I can cold call them myself. Does this sound like a plan?
No one is doing the things that we are doing, and no one will beat the rates we are giving with the support behind us.

I don't want to throw a wrench in your plan but, I have seen Match Rate plus come around a few times. They might rival you.

Anyway, here is how I would expand....
I would recruit reps in my area.
You would act as the team/office manager.
Take them out, show them the ropes, blah blah blah.
Tell them you are looking for people to expand and start their own offices.
Have the good ones, start their own offices.
You handle the mgmt for the first few months while they get off the ground.
They would get an override on every new account their team brought in.

Just know... You will probably have a high turnover rate.

@vndn I appreciate the heads up, but I am not competing to be honest. There are enough businesses in the sea and after reading their finer points, I have no worries that we are going to be fine. Being backed by First Data gives us immediate credibility for people that have looked into these kind of things. The more I think of this the more I think I will get this on the right track, I appreciate all of you that have chimed in.

Also, where would I go to or how would I find a list of businesses that currently have CC processing. I see things all the time about lead lists and such, is there data on this that I can purchase? Or stick to the phone book?

          A few thoughts for you:

          1) I would pick a few markets to go after rather than just going out after all of them.

          2) You benefit greatly from transaction volume. So - find businesses that do lots of charges per month. Dry Cleaners, Liquor Stores, Smoke Shops, Mail Stores, Carwashes etc...

          3) You can be certain that virtually ALL of the businesses in these types of industries accept credit cards.

EDIT - Don't forget restaurants. Go there early in the morning. And the roadside food vendors (hot dog stands) can be a very good client. They do thousands of transactions per month.

If your rates are low I don't think it matters if they have it or not.

You ask if they take credit cards.

No you go into the benefits of taking Credit Cards and how you can get them the most competitive rates in the market.

Yes and you probe to see what they are paying and explain how you can save them real money. Have them lay out the numbers.

The best way to generate leads is to meet customers where they are most likely to be looking for what you are offering.

In the case of merchant accounts, 2,900 people go on Google.com each month and type this in:

    "accept credit cards"

That's what you call a "high commercial intent" keyword search term. This thread has inspired me to create an outstanding video / gimmick and target that phrase...

Also don't forget the high dollar and low volume people like car dealers and such. Dealers get hosed on fees for CC transactions.

      Hi there,

And having just bought a car in America I can tell you they'll avoid a credit card transaction over $750 like the plague. I wanted to put a considerable amount on my AMEX so I could take a well-needed vacation on air-miles, and you'd think I was asking the dealer to hand over their first-born. I didn't realize they got "hosed on fees" - sounds like a market opportunity!

      All the best

      Sasha

Guys, I really appreciate the help that you've been throwing. In my brainstorming since the beginning I have been writing down lots of ideas in which you guys have mentioned so I know I am on the right track.
Car dealerships: I caddy Medinah Country Club where the latest Ryder Cup was, and today I caddied for a foursome of car dealership owners. I picked their brains and they said that they go through the banks because the deals they negotitate through them are pretty good. They were not receptive to even a free rate quote. I even went to independent gas stations, a Shell today, and they said Shell prevents them from switching, they make them use what they provide no questions asked. As for the SEO I have already put together the landing page layout, the keywords I think I want to attack and am excited to get started. I also put a job ad on CL to start recruiting an army. This is very exciting.
