Direct mail campaign advice

I was just working on standard operating procedures when it comes to planning a direct mail campaign from start to finish for a client. I know I haven't discussed follow-up pieces in the list.

But just from a first glance, did you think I covered everything that's important to a campaign?

Here is the list: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1...it?usp=sharing

Depending on what you are selling, you might want to consider the sequence mailing aspect to the campaign. (ala Dan Kennedy)

Sequence mailing is basically 3 (or more) letters that go out at intervals such as 10 days apart. Each subsequent letter refers to the previous letter in the copy.

Sequence mailings can be very profitable because you are going to get a response on the 2nd and 3rd mailings if done correctly and assuming you are sending to the right list to begin with.

I'm selling a particular service. It's called gas meter enclosures. Targets are usually general contractors. How would you segment further down?

Might be worth consulting a list broker. They can narrow the list down to exactly who you want to send to. I have a subscription to infofree and its pretty good too. Find someone who does it every day and it will be easy to find who you are trying to reach.
