Is there room for a video to rank above local results?

In a previous discussion here, I think someone in this forum provided an example of their local video ranking above the 7 or 10 local results, but I rarely see this.

Is anyone here experienced at doing such on a regular basis, and if you could share, how do you go about doing it?

I do it all the time, but only for local clients. I can't do it on purpose, or guarantee it. But it happens all the time.

Either that, or the videos are directly below the Local listings.

And you have to type in the exact right search phrase for it to happen, usually.

What if they're not stars? What if they are holes poked in the top of a container so we can breath?

So "all the time" means you have how many ABOVE the 7/10? And would you care to elaborate on your exact process? That would be very informative I'm sure.
Man, I know I just put myself in this position. I do about 67 things to my videos to guarantee they rank on page one.

The vast majority of it is in my book, Local Online Marketing. You can get it on Amazon.

One of the keys is to add comments, from the client's channel...to other high Pagerank Youtube videos in the same niche. I do it every day for a couple of weeks. Maybe 100 or more comments. The Username in the comment is a direct Dofollow link to your client's channel.

A lot of it has to do with the Keywords in the title, and matching keywords in the description and tags. I put the keywords at the beginning of the title. At the beginning of the description. But it all has to read well, and make sense.

I create a lot of text links to the individual videos from outside Youtube. Mostly articles, websites, blogs, some bookmarks, and I run every link through both Linklicious.com and Backlinksindexer.com

There's a lot more. It isn't "Three easy steps", it's a lot of work. And I can't guarantee where the videos will show up, only that at least one will be on the first page of a Google search.

But they regularly show up at #1 or even above the local listings. But only because I create a number of incoming text links, links from other videos, links from high PR video sites, links from Facebook, links from a website I build for them....

And again, a lot of it has to do with the search phrase typed into Google.

So it isn't just one thing. Buy my book.

I have several videos ranking at the very top of the first page that I did for lead generation sites.

It was surprising at first...now...not so much.

Well, not much of a strategy really. Just basic video ranking techniques.

        1. I use the term I want to rank for in the title.

        2. I use the term again a couple of times in the description and comments on the video.

        3. I throw a couple of Fiverr backlinking and social bookmarking gigs at it.

That is really about it. I don't "buy" views or any of that even though I have read it is supposed to help.

Not really sure why some do better than others. I am looking at one right now I did last month for "painting xxxxxxx TX" that is the very first result on page one over organic & Google Plus listings with over 543,000 results that I have not added a single backlink or social bookmark to. The video has only had 2 views for pete's sake.

A high PR website probably created a link to the video. Or a few people are sharing it on social media. The views can show up days after the actual views.

I make sure my views are for the entire length of the video. That shows that the video is popular. I don't know if that helps on Google, but I think it does on Youtube.

I have people leave comments on the video page too. Applicable comments with keywords in them. I have a network of people that we trade comments. Just one or two, not dozens.

Pretty much what others have said. A lot will depend on how much competition there is too.

It's very possible to rank clients videos above the local results. I do this a lot for clients, but not all keywords will get above, some right below.

I always get them on 1st page and like claude said above, their is a lot of factors that play a role in above or below the local results, but the heaviest factor I found is the local keyword you are optimizing.

Some can have just a few views and be right above and some videos have thousands of hits and be below. I always guarantee 1st page rankings, but never guarantee clients exact number on 1st page due to things like this topic.
