How to Find Buyers of Luxury Items

Hello, fellow Warriors.

I'm looking for strategies on how to reach high-end luxury item buyers. For example, let's say I strike up a deal with the local Porsche dealer in which he will pay me $5,000 for every paying customer I refer to him. Or the same thing with airplanes. Or yachts. Or Rolexes. Whatever.

Do any of you have any ideas for how to find these luxury buyers without spending thousands of dollars on marketing?

I'm open to local marketing ideas as well as national.

Thanks!

I skipped through the audio and agree the framing of the sales process to offer some value to the prospect to genuinely help them with their decision. That part was good.

Car referrals? there are quite a few car brokers that specialize in that already. Soup to nuts process. They work with fleet sales to work a deal. The whole luxury referral thing sounds great but in reality very difficult to execute for any more than a token fee for a referrer with not much more involvement in the process.

The way you can succeed is being an authority in your niche, offering clients real value to your services, otherwise why wouldn't they go to the source? It's my experience that luxury buyers do take the time to shop around themselves.

I bought a brand new harley V-Rod. In the metro area they were high teens to even 20k, checked around in a couple smaller town dealerships and got a drive-out of 16k.

I'd be shocked if Porsche dealership would pay more than a couple hundred bucks if they closed a sale on a customer who came in that said Bob sent me. Plus I have family who own ford and chevy dealerships. I sure as hell wouldn't bank on gettin paid even if my referral bought.

The real value here is generating ongoing serious buyers as referrals/lead gen, creating value for them, and creating value/authority/credibility with the vendors in your niche.

The custom pool example would be quite impossible as it is a complicated involved bidding/sales process that requires quite a bit of contractor/homeowner communication, so you gotta know your stuff. That puts you out of the loop in a hurry.

Referrals are more applicable to defined products.

However, longer term, if you are so good at lead gen of serious buyers, you would make a helluva lot more money being directly involved in the sale. Having an inventory of Rolexs to sell etc.....Instead of being a RE agent, start building homes..etc...

Vince, would you really front run your uncle comin down from Michigan and negotiate a referral fee from the dealership for his RV purchase? LOL. I guess the only way I would was if Uncle was briefed ahead of time and was ok with it. Then the uncle thinks, gee, I didn't get as good a deal as I could cuz the dealer had to pay my nephew Vince a referral fee! LOL

People generally dont buy most of the luxury items online so you should market in the local area with hoardings or news papers or distribute flyers and posters there in local area to market it.

Yup, while it is good to go online, definitely go after the people who are within the neighborhood rather than in other places to help you get more potential customers buying from your client.

I have been in off line sales for over 20 years, and have always found Breakfast clubs to be a useful introduction to local business people,
These people are your target customers for high end sales, and it is much easier to get talking over a good breakfast when your fellow diners are at their best. Fresh with the day ahead of them.
It works well for insurance anyway.

PS. Join your local Chamber of Commerce.

I hope this helps. Dennis N Brown.

DennisNbrown knows what he is talking about. Breakfast clubs are the way to go. It is however hard to find them. But, once you get yourself associated to one, it should help get you started.

Getting into a lot networking is not exactly easy. There is a lot of work to be done in this industry, and you must come to understand that networking is the best way to continue getting yourself closer to the bigger people trying to sell their high priced items.
