Yup...terrible beginning, not asking if the prospect has time to talk and instead pushing his way in, launching right into features and benefits instead of finding out about the prospect's world.

No up front contract in place to make sure both sides understand and agree on what's going to happen.

Doesn't have a consistent sales process, that's clear. Doesn't know what's coming up next.

I think this youtube is more of a spoof using actors on both sides of the phone. While its true that you don't want to use his technqiues, the video is not authentic.

Definitely not the way to cold call. The video simply shows how most people cold call nowadays. They think all you need to do is call. You need to know what you are selling and who you are selling it to.

  No. That's why major companies employ giant rooms full of telemarketers to sell their products and services.
  
  HOW the calling needs to be done to be successful is what has changed. Most people begin their calls so badly that there IS no rest of the call.
