SMS Opt in Msg on Facebook Landing Page

I'm having someone create a Facebook landing page to get visitors to opt-in to my local campaign via text. Is anyone using opt-in box visitors put their phone number in?

Also, anyone out there using an email opt-in box and text to message mobile opt in together on their landing page or would this not be a good idea if my main goal is to get them to text in first? Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks

    No its a bad idea because just the phone number alone make the conversion rate lower then expected and if you were to add email it would be even lower.

    What I like to do is use incentives in my clients business to build up the sms list real fast and what I am doing at the same time is building a list of all of there customers which is priceless .

    How I do it is say I give a free trials out and lets say it's a bar! So I would put on all there beer mugs in the bar text xxxx to 1234 to get a free beer .
    What this does is builds a list real fast that the business can market to on another day and I gain a client for life ...
