FYI - NO Free Kindle Book Giveaways In This Forum

That's right...my thread was removed and I was told in reply to my support ticket that NO giveaways are allowed.

Makes zero sense to me. What's the difference between that and a pdf??

It's FREE and accessible to EVERYONE.

Why would they do that? It's no opt in and we've done it in the past. Hell it opens you up to negative reviews so could even be a negative.

So what if someone else posts it? Then it isn't self promotion.

I'd understand it if we had an issue with people abusing it or posting things off topic.

Didn't claude give one away? Me thinks someone in the shadows doesn't like Mr. Kanigan.

      You may be right.

I have a few free books coming up. I'll just list them in the Signature.

What's fair for one is fair for all. If the rule is "no free book giveaways", then I respect that. It isn't my forum.

And there are far better ways to give away a free Kindle book. I have a list of websites that are there just for that purpose. A free book may be downloaded a few thousand times in a few days.

But here? On the offline forum? Maybe 10 times. I was just doing it as a favor.
But we can still list it in our sig, so that's not a big deal.

And it's really hard to complain when this is all free anyway.

    Don't take it personally, Jason.

You're way generous with your time and advice on the forums.

I'm sure that's not lost on the folks who have the unpleasant job of telling people things they don't want to hear while trying to maintain some semblance of order around here.

Remember how many jerks there are constantly trying to get a toe-hold and exploit the joint every minute of every day. I can easily see how a Kindle book giveaway or launch promotion threads could get really nasty for the forum, fast.

You post one, yours... That's not the problem.

They'll post as many as they can stuff into the database as fast as they can. Problem.

Anyway, just don't take it personally. It's the matrix.

    Best,

    Brian

  • I think there is a thread somewhere in WF where you can post your free Kindle giveaways. Seem to remember Paul posted it, or ran it or something.

The war room is where you give free stuff away to the community so that's probably why as a "thread" it deleted. As far as I know signature links can be anything except affiliate links.

There is a thread for free book giveaways at http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...giveaways.html

The reason for putting them in that thread is the mods can keep track of them and delete them when the promotion is done. Otherwise the forums get littered with posts about free books that are no longer free. There is another subforum for other free giveaways.
