I was talking to a direct salesman once who said he had "The gift of gab". I had never heard anyone say that about themselves before. He then went on to tell me that he "Double talked the prospect" and that he "Dazzled them with bullsh1t".. I felt sorry for him. He bought into the myth, and was trying to make a living using the worst advice he could have been given. Selling is clarity. Selling is a perfect fit between you (and your offer) and the prospect. Selling is helping people grow and have a better life. People don't look down on selling. They look down on what they think selling is. Anyone want to buy a used soapbox? |
