Who knows about building mobile apps?

I'd like to have a very simple mobile app built for android & iphone.

I'd need for it to give the user a choice of postcard sizes and quantity, then return a price for them.

I have no experience in any of this, what are my options to have this built and can anyone give me an idea of the time/cost it may be?

I'm not looking for a mobile website, I'm looking for a mobile app. Like a calculator.

Hi Jake i know of a company that can do this for you. Don't get involved with companies that charge you a monthly fee. The business i know of just charges a small upfront fee.

Let me know if you want there details pal.

yeah, I would throw this at ODesk for $50-$100. If it's as simple as you describe, it will be an easy project for the right person.

There are many ways to develop an app, as everyone has said you can get it done at odesk or you can check out my blog My Secret Traffic Source For The New 21st Century Mobile Devices.

I wouldn't hire a foreigner. Creating mobile apps is getting easier and easier. Javascript can be used to create simple apps that can be shipped to both platforms simultaneously.

If you really want a strong quality of work, do your homework on what you need - again, it's a lot faster and cheaper to build on Javascript than it is to go native. Once you find what you want, buy ads in Stanford, Harvard, etc. type school newspapers. Offer a solid "internship like" price but the key is you will be giving them "experience" as well.

Public Universities with strong compu sci departments are also ripe because they struggle to place graduates.
