Why Brand Yourself Online?

In Today's business society, I noticed that everyone who's in network marketing industries are building their brands on the internet through blogging, facebook pages, etc..

My thoughts for these are:
-more exposure
-more leads
-(anything else?)

*I'm currently working on a research assignment why is this so?

Any thoughts about this will be pretty much appreciated!

    Blogging is a also way for business to establish authority within their industry. It's also a way to interact with potential partners and clients.

    It's also a way of building a community around your brand. When you have a loyal community or fanbase it adds credibility and makes marketing your business easier.

      Building your brand is a key component in building the credibility and authority of your business but simply putting information out on a blog about what you do or the products you sell is not truly building brand awareness. All strong brands know the power of good relationships. and that is what building a brand is about. Don't try to sell who you are or what you do, promote relationships and the value in your brand.
