Anyone into sms texting for local business's ?
I am on the verge of opening a service up for my area business's and would love to get some insight on what other members in here are doing to get clients and what service they are using.
I am leaning towards txt180 since i hear good reviews and they seem to have a nice reseller program at $295.....
Also, how you guys pitching this service to the local business's to get them to sign up ?

What exactly are the problems that your SMS/texting service will solve for them? Are you building your own app and using their API or are you just reselling their service?

We went with building our own application to solve specific problems in the marketplace, so our sales approach is tailored with this in mind. That is, we just use a company like txt180 as a gateway provider to deliver our messages but our value is created by us and provided to our customers --- they have no idea who that gateway is and they don't care because it is our service that they find value in.

I have the best results when selling SMS to local businesses by actually walking in/scheduling an appointment and showing the business owner a demo of how the service/software works.

I bring a table-top flyer , have a keyword setup with the clients name and configure a message that will fit their business.

Almost every business owner loves what they see during the demo.

If they seem interested after the demo...but not sure if they want to spend any more marketing dollars, I offer them a 30-day free trial to help build their list and show them the power of SMS marketing. Almost 9 out of 10 will stay on-board after the 30-day trial because they see what type of ROI sms can give them.

    Hope that helps

I think its hard to just sell a SMS service to the business. It will work better f you package it with a Local Search and Social Media Marketing Package.

SMS marketing is one of the easiest things to sell because you can give away a free trial and show results fast. And once you have a client you have a client for life if done right.
All of the big companies are implementing SMS marketingit into there marketing campaigns.

President Obama used SMS marketing to get elected and won buy a landslide because of it.
See with SMS marketing you can give away a free trial and during that free trial you want to be building a list of all of your clients customers . So you are doing something that is priceless for that business that nobody else will do for them. Building a list of all of all of there customers to market to and bring back into the business whenever you want to.
Once you have built a list of all of their customers they aren't going anywhere, you now have a customer for life.

You do this buy giving something away for free to get them to sign up and by doing this you will be able to show results fast and win over a client for life ..

I have to this day every client I have ever given away a free trial too still paying me each and every month for a couple of times a month all I have to do is send out promotions for them.
One of my pizza places that I have had over 200 orders on Tuesday just from 1 text message I sent..

All of you should be using SMS marketing as your lead offer and I didn't even mention all the other services that you will end up selling because of it..

You become their go to guy for alll of their marketing needs because of the results that you have shown them with SMS marketing...
