What do you think about this Offline idea?

Hi boys and girls.

This is my first post, so let me introduce myself very shortly.

I am from Germany, so plz forgive me my not so perfect English, and I am also very new to this marketing thing.
I had to give up my recent job due to some health issues and so I ran into this subject almost by coaccident.
Then I found this forum and I am now very proud to be a part of this cool community.

So hi all.

I studied economics (not finished though), read a lot of books and stuff (e.g. Kennedy, Ziglar, Sugarman, Halbert and some more) so that I think that I have an edge in marketing over almost 90% of all business owners in the area where I live.
Believe me, when you would see their ads in the newspapers or the salespages on their homepages you would just shake your head or facepalm or whatever.

So again, although I am new to the business, I think I could help almost anyone here in my area. Maybe I am wrong but I really dont think so.

So here is my idea on where I want your criticism and or improvement ideas on:

Step 1) Find companies that make bad marketing, i.e. publish horrible newspaper ads, have bad homepages, yaddayaddayadda.

Step 2) Write them a killer-salestter. I.e. tell them that their copy is bad or (could be improved ) and then list a couple of things that they in fact did make bad. E.g. their headline was way too long or their first sentences were too long so that nobody got into the text. Or that they talk too much about themselves instead of the customer or that they dont create enough curiosity, talk about the features instead of the benefits ... you name it.

The hole purpose of this letter is to basically show them for free that my ideas are good and of course for free up to this point. Just a random gift from a stranger. So I want them to think I know my stuff and create curiosity what else I could deliver. Which I am going to offer next.
Like: "if you wish to get more ideas on how to blablabla, you can contact me..."

What do you think?

Maybe a weird question, but after all, plz dont laugh, I have no idea what to deliver then

Should I offer to rewrite their salespage?

Should I offer to send them a report or something like that filled with ideas (basically a summary of my knowledge)?

My main problem basically is that I think that I could help most business owners here but have no idea HOW.
I know that sounds crazy.

Some ideas?
Anyone?

    Guten Tag

So you send their Ad to them with a couple of suggestions with a note to call you to discuss further; if they so desire, for a free 15 min phone consult.

From that you can give your 'Total Ad Overhaul' suggestions and then simply state what you would charge to do the whole thing for them.

    Seems reasonably simple to me.

If this sort of Ad that you are talking about (Direct Response really) is not common in Germany then you will see whether it is untapped or simply not required.

If the former then it should be quite easy for you even with limited sales skills.

Especially if you get results from a couple of them as Business owners tend to know all the others in the locality.

Just try it out and see.

    Viel Gluck

Send them a copy of their ad with a note that
you noticed half a dozen ways to improve the
      sales they're getting from it.

But be very careful with how you talk to prospects.

It's likely they wrote the ad themself or someone
      close to them did.

They almost certainly had a lot of input into it.

So telling the headline sucks or the bullets suck
is not going to get them onside.

You want to be a little more diplomatic than that.

"This is a great start but with a few changes here
and there we can should get you a lot more sales."

This approach works better the more recent the
ad is (if the ad is more recent the business owner
has a lot more recent emotional energy invested
      in it.)

      Kindest regards,
      Andrew Cavanagh
