Has anyone ever asked a business owner for referrals when they first started out?
I'm talking about an owner who has a business that's non competitive to yours and your product/service is complementary to their business/customers.

If so how did you go about it? Phone,email,direct mail? What did you say?

    I wouldn't trade referrals with someone I never met. Do it in person. Do it locally.
