Duplicate video, different titles - allowed?

This guy has the same video over and over with different titles. Doesn't YouTube shut those down?

I'm glad you've put this on the radar because I've seen an Appliance Repair Youtube channel with what looks like the same video.

I believe there's a bulk/spin type video software that allows there to be slight changes made to a given Youtube vid that you wouldn't be able to tell just by looking at it.

I wonder if that's what's in use in both of these instances.

That's my guess. In fact, that's what we do when we send the same video to different video sites. But the same video multiple times on Youtube? That's lazy, and may get the channel deleted.

This is the youtube channel I referenced earlier. Appears to be the same video targeting different cities. Ohad A - YouTube

There are a number of ways to do that. There's also relatively inexpensive software you can buy that will make each video unique. I suspect that's what the guy did, but he does risk of getting the entire channel taken down.

There was a WSO here a few years back that showed a method to do this... he ran it through a software that would slow the video down or speed it up, plus or minus only a few seconds to the entire length. There was no visual or audible difference, but he said that was enough for YT to read it as a "different" video. Not sure if that still works or if that is what is going on here.

Sometimes you can upload them in different formats, with different titles, different descriptions, different tags. Depending on how they are produced, you could make different bumpers, different intros and different outros.

Those videos were uploaded 9 months ago. Their duplicate video detection systems has been upgraded 3 times since then as well as the video transcription system. It is much harder to upload the exact same video now a days (not impossible, there are a few tricks).

From what I can tell, as long as the videos were uploaded prior to the last few updates and the channel/videos are not doing anything funny (fake likes, views, etc)...then the channel/videos will be fine until a manual review is completed. That will not happen unless that channel/videos are reported in some way to get them on the YT radar.

Man, that's wild- there's a ton of them. I can see clearly now on this channel what the other posters were saying--each one is slightly different in length and start frame or end frame. I've seen software the generates lots of videos from still images, but nothing like this. Crazy.

While I'll agree that Claude is right, this is the LAZY way to do this - I have to say, it can be profitable for quick money. And yes, I do it the lazy way.

That being said, for anyone who is trying to decide if they want to play this little game of cat & mouse, allow me to share some real world experience:

    1. Spread that risk out over SEVERAL channels. I just got a few of my channels whacked yesterday with a total of about 9,000 videos (yes...that's right...9,000 videos over about 3 channels). By the way, this isn't the first time this has happened. But before, I had fewer videos.
    2. Get yourself organized in case of disaster. In fact, you should plan on disaster. But at least if it happens, you can get back up and running quickly.

    Pros:
    1. You can make quick money and it works.
    2. You can scale video spinning and uploads quickly - so even uploading hundreds or thousands of videos is a relatively simple process.

    Cons:
    1. You will likely get shut down at some point.
    2. All the work you put in up front, will be gone.
    3. You'll have to decide if its worth starting over.

As you can see, this is not for someone who is adverse to risk. You will have to decide for yourself if the payoff is worth the investment.

Yes, sometimes YouTube doesn't mind about video duplication. But it's better to avoid because if users may get irritated and your reputation may go down.

Videos with different contents is always helpful to get rank.
